This Senior Technical Program Manager role at Microsoft involves managing programs from product build to customer sales. Candidates with software and hardware engineering backgrounds are preferred. The team manages manufacturing processes, testing, data collection, and analysis to improve product quality and inform business decisions. This highly collaborative role requires aligning cross-functional teams (product development, sourcing, test, manufacturing, and new product introduction) to execute operational plans. Overview

We seek talented Senior Technical Program Manager to manage programs that result in these products being built, tested, and sold to customers. Candidates with backgrounds in both software and hardware engineering are ideal. Our team’s systems manage the manufacturing process, run tests at each production stage, collect detailed information, and track results throughout the product lifecycle. This data is critical for business decisions and product quality improvements, including calibrating sensors, detecting display defects, and identifying issues before customer impact.

 

This highly collaborative role aligns a cross-functional team to execute operational plans, with key partners including product development, sourcing, test, manufacturing operations, and the new product introduction management team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (Hardware) or related field AND 7+ years enterprise computer, consumer electronics design or hyperscale supply chain systems experience 
    • OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (Hardware) or related field AND 6+ years enterprise computer, consumer electronics design or hyperscale supply chain systems experience
    • OR Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (Hardware) or related field
    • OR equivalent experience
  •  Candidate must demonstrate advanced level of knowledge in manufacturing disciplines; possess excellent communications and leadership skills, ability to work well with cross functional groups, ability to work independently with remote supervision.

  • Communication in English both written and spoken, is required as a high standard. Communication in Vietnamese and other diverse language is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (Hardware) or related field AND 9+ years enterprise computer, consumer electronics design or hyperscale supply chain systems experience 
    • OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (Hardware) or related field AND 8+ years enterprise computer, consumer electronics design or hyperscale supply chain systems experience
    • OR Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (Hardware) or related field AND 6+ years enterprise computer, consumer electronics design or hyperscale supply chain systems experience
    • OR equivalent experience
  • Additional experience and knowledge in managing test relevant project, product development process will be significantly advantageous. Supplier management experience preferred.

 

Responsibilities

  • This role is a good opportunity for candidates that have a personal or professional interest in consumer electronics, gadgets, or device components such as cameras, displays, sensors, RF/LTE technologies etc
  • Depth understanding of the product technical requirements, various groups milestones and interdependencies for establishing an accurate and effective Project infrastructure.
  • Accountable for effective management of risks and dependencies while ensuring timely decisions are being made, ensuring quality of the product.
  • Manage and drive the build readiness technical issues via leveraging supplier resources. Track daily progress or yield reporting plan for the success product build.
  • Drive clear and accurate communications and recommendations to peers and senior management by distilling complex technical challenges, outlining options, and providing supporting data. Exceptional communication highlighting risks and providing recommendations to support product level decisions.
  • Good in presentation skill, ability to communicate and present to all levels of management.
