Elsewhere Entertainment seeks a Senior Tools Programmer to build tools and pipelines empowering content creators. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining robust tools for content creation and game development; partnering with artists and engineers; identifying pipeline improvements; developing and maintaining a proprietary UI framework; providing technical guidance; and writing clean, reliable code. The ideal candidate possesses 4+ years of professional programming experience, solid C++ knowledge, experience with game-specific tooling, understanding of design patterns and UI toolkits (Qt, wxWidgets, WinForms), and strong collaboration skills.

Job Description:

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Senior Tools Programmer to join our team and help build the tools and pipelines that empower content creators to bring their visions to life. In this role, you will take ownership of the development of powerful, user-friendly tools and frameworks that streamline workflows and support our next-generation AAA experiences on our new IP. 

You will work closely with artists, designers, and other engineers to design and implement tools that enhance productivity and unlock creative potential. 
 
You’ll help us by 

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust tools for content creation and game development. 

  • Partnering with artists, designers, and engineers to deliver tools that meet their needs. 

  • Identifying opportunities for pipeline improvement that enhance productivity across teams. 

  • Developing and maintaining our proprietary UI framework. 

  • Providing technical guidance to team members, fostering growth and collaboration. 

  • Writing clean, reliable, and maintainable code. 
     

You’re awesome because you have 

  • 4+ years as a professional programmer or a combination of education and relevant experience. 

  • A solid knowledge of C++ and development best practices. 

  • An interest in game-specific tooling and pipelines, with some hands-on experience developing tools for content creation. 

  • A solid understanding of design patterns used in games and tools. 

  • Practical knowledge of UI toolkits such as Qt, wxWidgets, WinForms, or similar frameworks, and the ability to build polished, intuitive interfaces. 

  • The ability to thrive as part of a creative team, collaborating across disciplines to deliver impactful solutions. 

  • A resourceful and innovative approach to solving complex challenges, paired with a positive, respectful, and team-first attitude. 

  • Strong time management and organizational methods to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality results. 

  • Comfort with self-critique and openness to external feedback, using it to refine and improve your work. 

  • Strong English skills, both spoken and written, for effective collaboration and documentation. 

 

Bonus points for 

  • Knowledge of best practices in UI/UX for game tools. 

  • Understanding of content pipelines and formats used in games (FBX, USD, etc). 

  • Enjoyment of playing a variety of video game genres and titles.
