This role requires a self-driven individual who thrives on collaboration and translating complex technical SEO information into engaging narratives to empower the global SEO community. The specialist will also promote MozCon and other marketing events.

As our Social Media Marketing Strategist, you'll be the strategic engine behind our social presence, shaping engaging narratives and driving meaningful conversations that fuel the success of our cutting-edge SEO software suite: Moz Pro, Moz Local, and Moz API, as well as our popular content and MozCon events. In this pivotal role, you'll be a key collaborator across internal teams, developing and executing impactful social media programs that support our business objectives. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing Moz's social media impact and ensuring its strategic alignment with our broader marketing and business objectives. Responsibilities: ●       Ownership of Moz's social media strategy and presence across all relevant platforms, ensuring alignment with overall marketing and business goals.       The strategy, execution, delivery, and analysis of all social media marketing programs for Moz, including organic content, community engagement, and brand advocacy.       Creating compelling and platform-optimized social media content in various formats (text, images, videos, infographics) that translates technical SEO concepts into accessible and engaging narratives.       Developing and maintaining a comprehensive monthly content calendar that strategically incorporates campaign-related content, SME insights, industry news, and evergreen resources.       Implementing strategies to foster strong online brand advocacy, identifying and engaging with key advocates, and amplifying their positive contributions.       Actively monitoring brand sentiment across social media platforms, engaging in relevant industry conversations, and addressing any feedback or concerns in a timely and professional manner.       Utilizing Sprout Social to track and analyze social media performance metrics (impressions, engagements, engagement rate, etc.) for profiles, posts, and competitors, generating regular reports to inform strategy.       Making data-driven adjustments to content approach and platform strategy based on performance analysis and insights.       Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders (Content, Product Marketing, SEO experts) to amplify topical and product-aligned content and ensure cohesive messaging across all channels.       Training and providing resources for employee advocacy initiatives and supporting the social media presence of Moz's Subject Matter Experts.       Contributing to the social media promotion and amplification of MozCon and other marketing events.       Contributing to the evolution and maintenance of Moz's brand guidelines as they pertain to social media.       Identifying opportunities for partnering with relevant online influencers to reach new audiences.       Manage the social media editorial calendar within Jira (or similar project management software), ensuring content is scheduled effectively and assigned appropriately.       Staying up-to-date with the latest social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices to ensure Moz remains innovative and effective on social media.       Continuously explore and experiment with new social media platforms, formats, and strategies to maximize reach and engagement. Responsibilities: Proven experience with brand social media marketing, preferably within the B2B or SaaS industry, with a strong understanding of how to effectively market a brand on various social media platforms (e.g., Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram). Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to create engaging and platform-appropriate content. Experience using social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social) for scheduling, monitoring, and analytics. Proficiency in using content creation tools (e.g., Canva or similar) to develop visually appealing content. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment. Requirements: A clear understanding and strategic vision of how social media marketing contributes to broader business objectives and customer engagement. Proven experience in developing and executing successful social media strategies that drive engagement, build brand awareness, and support traffic growth. Proficient in utilizing social media management platforms (e.g., Sprout Social) for scheduling, monitoring, analytics, and reporting. Proven ability to develop high-performing social media content that resonates with a technical audience and drives measurable results. A strong understanding of brand building on social media, maintaining a consistent and authoritative yet approachable brand voice in a technical industry. Highly data-driven in your approach to social media marketing, using KPIs to measure performance and refine strategies. The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Content, Product Marketing, and Design, to ensure alignment with overall marketing strategies and brand messaging. Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into actionable and effective social media strategies. Must have: Experience with paid social media advertising, familiarity with video editing software, and experience with community-building platforms. Established network within the SEO or marketing industry or ability to develop a network of influencers to partner with. An interest in SEO and digital marketing and a desire to learn more, is a plus. Experience with social media promotion for events. Nice to have: Familiarity with the influencer marketing landscape.
