Job Description

As a Software Engineer III at YouTube, you'll collaborate on defining, building, and testing features across various products, including YouTube Studio. This involves working with a tech stack including TypeScript, Polymer/CoW, Elements (EML), and C++. You'll design and launch features enhancing the Creator ecosystem, protecting content rights, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Responsibilities also include contributing to a responsible AI ecosystem and collaborating with teams within Content ID and across YouTube. The role requires experience in full-stack development with languages like Java, Python, Golang, or C++ (backend) and JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS (frontend), along with expertise in data structures and algorithms. You will work on projects critical to Google's needs, requiring versatility, leadership, and enthusiasm to tackle new challenges across the full stack.

Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years software development experience

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
  • 2 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with YouTube tech stack (e.g., InnerTube, EML, Polymer).
  • Experience scoping, defining, and tracking projects with reasonable estimates and timelines.
  • Excellent cross-team and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to define, build, and test features across products.
  • Collaborate with teams within Content ID and across YouTube to build features in YouTube Studio.
  • Implement features by working across a tech stack that includes TypeScript, Polymer/CoW, Elements (EML), and C++.
  • Design and launch features that enrich the Creator ecosystem, help rights holders protect their content, and ensure Google remains compliant with regulations.
  • Contribute to a responsible AI ecosystems.
