Job Description

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you will cultivate relationships with potential partners, lead discussions, and evaluate business opportunities for YouTube in India. You'll manage a portfolio of public figures and agencies, defining, executing, and analyzing performance metrics to recommend improvements. This role involves developing industry relationships, managing project initiatives (workshops, events), and guiding partners towards goals, including maximizing watch time, audience growth, and community interaction. You will collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, business, operations, finance, and legal teams. Responsibilities include developing creative strategies to enhance client relationships, measuring performance, streamlining workflows, and identifying new opportunities. You'll need to negotiate content-licensing agreements and advocate for product or process improvements.
Must have:
  • 4+ years in business development, partnerships, media & entertainment
  • C-level executive & cross-functional management experience
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and time management skills
  • Experience working with public figures and agencies
  • Ability to analyze performance and recommend improvements
Good to have:
  • Process improvement skills
  • Knowledge of technology, finance, and relevant policies
  • Fluency in English

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in business development, partnerships, media and entertainment
  • Experience in working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in improving processes with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of technological concepts, financial models, and education/news policies, copyright, etc.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently in order to interact with external stakeholders in the market.
  • Ability to think about issues and then to convert insights into actions.
  • Ability to collaborate with partners and to solve problems through analysis in a changing environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation planning and time management skills.

About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

In this role, you will participate in content strategy planning, facilitate ongoing business and operational processes, help manage the operational components of partner campaigns, identify and drive business growth opportunities and obtain approvals and terms for various partner-related opportunities. You will have the opportunity to create relationships with our partners, to renew existing partnerships, and to optimize potential opportunities. You will be as comfortable negotiating content-licensing agreements with partners as you are working cross-functionally with colleagues in Product, Engineering, Business, Operations, Finance, and Legal to ensure our partners are positioned for success and our users enjoy the quality experience.The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Build and grow the presence of public figures for YouTube in India by managing a portfolio of public figures and agencies and define, model, execute against, and analyze distribution performance metrics and recommend channel improvements to partners.
  • Develop industry relationships, manage project initiatives including workshops, events and other initiatives.
  • Manage partners towards goals, including maximizing watch time hours, platform engagement, audience growth, community interaction, business generation and growth by developing customized investigative strategies and business plans.
  • Work with team and cross-functional partners to develop and implement creative ways to improve client relationships, grow distribution and drive growth across YouTube (YT) priorities.
  • Measure and analyze performance, streamline operational workflows and identify new opportunity areas for the portfolio and advocate for product or process improvements.
