This role leads a Production Maintenance team on a night shift, working a 2-2-3 rotation. The supervisor is responsible for organizing, optimizing maintenance management and production maintenance activities, and overseeing project management. Key duties include managing preventive, corrective, and urgent maintenance workflows using CMMS, reducing maintenance costs, managing contractors, and directing team activities for efficiency and productivity. The position requires significant hands-on contribution (at least 70%) to maintenance in the production area. Responsibilities include leading the shift to produce quality products cost-effectively, supporting maintenance and production areas with strong leadership behaviors, and driving continuous improvement in procedures and processes. The supervisor will lead troubleshooting efforts, conduct root cause analysis, and drive continuous equipment improvement. They will also manage work assignments via CMMS, provide training and mentoring, perform departmental audits, and ensure adherence to safety policies.
Must have:
  • High School Diploma/GED with 8 years maintenance experience
  • Strong electro-mechanical and control systems knowledge
  • Experience with production equipment and CMMS
  • 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Hands-on knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings
  • Knowledge of 5s implementation
  • Adherence to safety and OSHA policies
Good to have:
  • Associate's Degree with 5 years manufacturing equipment experience
  • Spare parts inventory management experience
  • Experience in a regulated environment
  • Basic SAP and eProc utilization
  • Ability to redline P&IDs and assembly drawings

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

This role is intended to lead a Production Maintenance team with normal working hours being 7:00pm - 7:30am working a 2-2-3 rotation.  Organize, administrate, optimize Maintenance Management and Production Maintenance activities, and oversee Project Management. Manage and oversee Preventive Maintenance, Corrective, & Urgent Maintenance workflow and activities in the Blue Mountain CMMS. Reduce the cost of maintenance and optimize department maintenance execution as well as management of outside contractors. Direct and oversee the Production Maintenance teams daily and project activities to ensure efficiency and productivity of the Production Maintenance team.
 
This is a working Supervisor position and is expected to contribute to the maintenance activities in the production area at least 70% of the time and perform administrative tasks in the office 30% of the time.
  • This position has Supervisory responsibility for decisions that directly impact the Production Maintenance Team as well as site manufacturing activities and product quality. 
  • Lead the assigned Production Maintenance shift to cost effectively produce a quality product that meets all regulatory and customer needs.
  • Support maintenance and production areas by demonstrating leadership behaviors: a self-starter who is organized, detailed, conscientious, and ambitious.
  • A team player with a positive attitude, approaching projects/tasks with a sense of ownership and a focus on root cause analysis/sustainable failure prevention.
  • Review preventative/corrective maintenance activities with a focus on constant improvement of existing procedures/processes and insures that all required documentation and records are maintained in accordance with site procedures and cGMP.
  • Periodic PM execution verification checks for quality of service.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to solve and address complex problems. Drive efforts in root cause analysis and continuous equipment/system improvement as well as infrastructure improvement toward the implementation of sustainable reliability based maintenance program.
  • Plans, initiates, and tracks progress of work assignments utilizing CMMS to meet manufacturing schedules and needs; effectively communicates status across shifts, throughout Production, and to site management.
  • Provides training, mentoring, and drives professional development.
  • Perform departmental audits.
  • Responsible to follow all site Safety Policies/OSHA policies including requirements as related to personal protection equipment as needed to perform routine and non-routine duties.
  • Assist in special assignments with outside technicians or departments such as training or personnel.

Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 8 years of maintenance experience with strong hands-on knowledge of electro-mechanical and control systems working with production equipment and CMMS.
    • Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience working with manufacturing equipment, CMMS, and spare parts inventory management also accepted.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a regulated environment desired.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
  • Able to read / redline electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical / assembly drawings.
  • Basic understanding and utilization of SAP and eProc preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of 5s implementation.
