You'll need strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and experience with live game production. Your work directly impacts millions of players daily.

Job Description

As a Gameplay/AI team lead on Rainbow 6 Siege, you will be managing eight programmers focusing on two main mandates: creating new operators and expanding the AI Bots feature.

The operator mandate will have you be part of the creation of new characters. From prototyping to polishing every possible interactions and providing live support, you'll be expected to support your team go through the whole process.

Meanwhile, the AI Bots mandate will have you collaborate with LaForge (Ubisoft internal R&D department) on cutting edge technologies, improving our onboarding bots behavior by using players live data as a basis for machine learning and reinforcement learning. You'll be the one responsible of driving the roadmap for improving the live AI bots behaviors to make them even more impactful.

With the help of a project manager, you'll be organizing the work of your team, balancing production priorities with team members development opportunities. We'll rely on your technical affinity to see the big picture in order to make the right calls so your team can meet deadlines without overloading anyone.

Responsibilities

· Create, prioritize, assign and regularly follow up on tasks and the advancement of the team’s work with regards to deliverables;

· Represent the team;

· Organize and lead team meetings;

· Know the game’s story and gameplay (game design documents) and understand the technical constraints so as to be able to lead/coach the team;

· Draft regular reports for the Project lead (CP)/ Production manager (PM) on the advancement of the team’s work and recommend corrective measures whenever necessary to meet project objectives;

· Anticipate and recognize potential conflicts and recommend solutions to the Project lead (CP)/ Production manager (PM) for the team;

· Be a mentor in terms of technical aspects for team members (where necessary);

· Take part in performance assessments in collaboration with the Project lead (CP)/ Production Manager (PM);

· Coordinate bug correction as it pertains to the team’s work;

· Ensure that new employees integrate the team;

· Help recruit new team members;

Qualifications

Training

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering or equivalent. Certification in project management (an asset).

 

Relevant Experience

· 5 years' experience in programming, including two in a management position.

· Participation in at least one complete game production or equivalent;

 

Skills and Knowledge

· Ability to work as part of a team;

· Sense of initiative;

· Time and priority management;

· Ability to delegate;

· Stress and change management skills;
