Technical Director - Games

• Leadership and Strategy:

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the backend development team.

  • Develop and execute the backend technology strategy aligned with the company's goals.

  • Collaborate with other directors and stakeholders to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business objectives.

• Architecture and Development:

  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure backend architectures for our games.

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of backend services using ASP.NET CORE.

  • Ensure optimal database performance and reliability using PostgreSQL and Redis.

  • Lead efforts to integrate backend services with Unity game engines.

• Cloud and Infrastructure:

  • Manage and optimize our cloud infrastructure on Azure Cloud.

  • Implement best practices for cloud resource management, cost optimization, and security.

  • Oversee CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to ensure smooth and automated deployments.

• Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with front-end developers, game designers, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of backend services.

  • Facilitate effective communication within the team and with external partners.

  • Represent the backend technology team in meetings and provide updates on progress and challenges.

• Quality and Performance:

  • Ensure high performance, stability, and security of backend systems.

  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems to detect and address issues proactively.

  • Conduct regular code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.

• Innovation and Improvement:

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of backend systems.

  • Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the team.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience in a technical leadership role within the gaming industry or a similar domain.

• Extensive experience with Azure Cloud, ASP.NET CORE, PostgreSQL, Redis, Jenkins, and Git.

• Strong understanding of backend development principles and best practices.

• Proficiency in integrating backend services with Unity game engines.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of the gaming industry.

Bonus points, if you have:

• Experience with other cloud platforms and technologies.

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with microservices architecture and serverless computing.

• Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards in the gaming industry.
