Paytm Money seeks a Technical Lead to guide its backend development team. Responsibilities include leading and mentoring developers, architecting and implementing microservices, driving technical decision-making, collaborating with cross-functional teams, performing code reviews, optimizing backend services, troubleshooting issues, and staying updated on new technologies. The ideal candidate will have 8-12+ years of Java backend development experience, including 2-3+ years in a leadership role, expertise in Java and the Spring Framework, and a strong understanding of microservices architecture. Experience with relational and non-relational databases, DevOps, and CI/CD is crucial. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science from a Tier 1 college is preferred.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Lead to lead and guide our backend development team. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership skills, and hands-on experience in building scalable, high-performance systems. Candidates with a strong academic background, particularly from Tier 1 colleges (IITs, NITs, IIITs, BITS), will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of backend developers in designing and developing enterprise-grade systems using Java.
Architect and implement scalable, reliable, and efficient microservices-based solutions.
Drive technical decision-making, ensuring alignment with best practices and business goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and front-end developers, to deliver robust solutions.
Perform code reviews and enforce coding standards to maintain code quality.
Optimize backend services for maximum performance and scalability.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in live systems.
Stay updated with the latest technologies and provide strategic inputs for technology adoption.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: 8-12+ years in Java backend development, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
Expertise in Java and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, etc.).
Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and API design best practices.
Hands-on experience with relational and non-relational databases.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems like Git.
Proven experience in designing and optimizing distributed systems.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Preference for candidates from Tier 1 colleges.
Preferred Skills:
Exposure to fintech or financial services domains.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
Familiarity with event-driven architecture and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
