Job Description

Netflix's Games platform team seeks a Technical Program Manager 6 to lead the delivery of new social capabilities for its games, aligning with its Trust and Safety roadmap. This role requires collaboration with various teams (engineering, UI, design, product, data science, and Netflix Game Studios) to execute cross-functional programs. Responsibilities include leading multiple programs, providing technical strategy expertise, driving engagement with internal partners, managing dependencies and risks, and reporting progress to stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses deep understanding of social platforms, Trust and Safety, and ideally, experience in the games industry. The role involves orchestrating large-scale technical programs and building scalable solutions. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

The games platform team is looking for a Technical Program Manager to drive the delivery of new Social capabilities, and align these social plans with the execution of our Trust and Safety roadmap in Netflix’s relatively nascent opportunity in games.

The games Social and Trust & Safety Technical Program Manager will partner closely with Product Managers to drive impactful cross-functional programs both within the games platform and across the company. The role requires strong coordination and collaboration with engineering teams in our core platform, games UI, design, product, data science, and the Netflix Game Studios organization. This role has the direct opportunity to impact a key objective for games - to move members from saying “Wait, Netflix has Games?” to “Do you want to play the latest Netflix Game together?”

Responsibilities

  • Leading multiple cross-functional programs, in collaboration with product, engineering, design, and data science.

  • Provide deep domain expertise to form technical strategies with engineering partners.

  • Drive engagement with internal partners, work to decompose requirements into technical execution plans with measurable milestones, effectively optimize scope and schedule, manage cross-functional dependencies, and proactively manage risks.

  • Craft clear communication of progress toward goals, reporting status to stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of technical program management experience

  • Deep understanding and point of view on social platforms and social experiences

  • Experience in Trust and Safety platform capabilities

  • Direct experience in the games industry is beneficial (TPM, Product, Development, etc.)

  • Enjoys orchestrating multi-organizational impacting software programs with many moving parts

  • Proven experience creating partnerships with cross-functional teams, driving large-scale technical strategies, debating technical approaches, and building long-term scalable solutions

  • Able to identify gaps in solutions  and weigh in on product vs. technology tradeoffs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate business impact and technical constraints tailored to the audience

  • Self-starter who enjoys tackling 0 to 1 problem spaces and quickly bringing organization and direction

  • Exemplify the by understanding, advocating, and demonstrating its values

Location of work

Our organization has a distributed team across the US. We are considering both candidates who are willing to relocate to Los Gatos, California, and fully remote candidates (remote in the US with approximately monthly travel to Netflix HQ as needed for meetings). The expectation is that candidates will work during core Pacific Standard Time business hours.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $100,000 - $720,000.
