Overview:

One of our clients is hiring for a Technical Program Manager in the Seattle or DFW area to drive a large-scale technology transformation project, overseeing coordination across multiple engineering teams and diverse stakeholder groups. This role involves collaborating with digital product managers, engineers, UX designers, and external partners to deliver innovative retail solutions and efficient internal platforms on established eCommerce platforms.

 

The Technical Program Manager will manage project timelines, establish cross-functional workflows, and communicate progress to the brand's leadership. This position is ideal for a highly organized individual who thrives on managing complex projects, removing bottlenecks, and has an interest in both program and digital product management.

 

 

Hourly pay range: $65 - $78/hr, paid weekly, benefits eligible (health, 401K)

 

Duration: 1+ years

 

Type: Hybrid 3 days per week (must live locally already, no relo)

 

 

 

Technical Program Manager Duties:

  • Project Management: Develop detailed project schedules, including Gantt charts, to coordinate tasks and manage dependencies. Ensure timely communication with cross-functional teams and report on project status to senior leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Establish processes for collaboration among product managers, UX designers, engineers, and external contractors, aligning efforts across teams to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • External Coordination: Manage relationships with external partners, such as contractors, to facilitate seamless integration and adherence to project timelines.
  • Product Management Support: Dedicate approximately 30-40% of time to product management tasks, including prioritization and roadmapping, defining product requirements, writing user stories, and working alongside engineering teams on implementation and testing.
  • Bottleneck Resolution: Actively identify and resolve obstacles that impact project flow, balancing competing priorities to keep the project on track.

 

 

 

Technical Program Manager Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years in program/project management with a proven record of managing complex, cross-functional technical projects from start to finish.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Skills: Proficient in Agile methodologies and software (e.g., Jira), project planning with multiple dependencies, and balancing competing priorities. Strong familiarity with enterprise eCommerce platforms.
  • Product Management: Experience with prioritization, customer-focused product development, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Analytical Tools: Experience with tools like QuickSight, Tableau, QlikView, and SQL querying in platforms like AWS Athena is preferred.

 

 

Technical Program Manager Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional Product Management Experience: 5+ years of product management experience in eCommerce/retail tech.
  • Technical Aptitude: Experience building and driving adoption of new tools, and evaluating "Build vs. Partner" decisions.
