As a Technical Program Manager at Google's Geo team, you'll lead complex projects from inception to completion, working with stakeholders to define requirements, manage schedules, and mitigate risks. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively with executives and engineers, and resolve technical challenges. Responsibilities include defining milestones, allocating resources, ensuring on-time delivery, communicating with engineers on tool prioritization, creating operational and product requirement documents, resolving project issues, and working with a global program management team. You will improve Geo Data tools and systems, focusing on solving scaling challenges.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years project management experience
  • Software engineering process improvement experience
  • Cross-functional communication and leadership
  • Problem-solving and influencing technical teams
Good to have:
  • Product lifecycle management experience
  • Experience with software development lifecycles

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in managing projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing and improving software engineering processes and development teams (e.g., bug tracking, builds, test, and release).
  • Experience with life-cycle management in a paced software environment or building product requirements and managing the product life-cycle.
  • Ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally, and to lead/manage team-members on projects.
  • Ability to solve software engineering challenges and influence an integrated team of technical and non-technical members.

You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technology programs by defining milestones and success criteria, resource allocation, and on-time delivery.
  • Communicate with Engineers on prioritization and implementation of tools and systems to improve Geo Data.
  • Create Operational and Product requirement documents that solve Geo's scaling challenges via Tools.
  • Manage resolution of project-related technical issues, self service configuration and engage with Engineering to determine root cause and solution.
  • Work with a global program management team to develop and deliver projects from conception to implementation and manage the relationships across Engineering and Operations.
