The Technology Buyer is responsible for managing enterprise hardware, software, and services sourcing initiatives. This role involves strategic sourcing, category management, negotiation, and project management for end-to-end sourcing and contracting. Responsibilities include developing global sourcing strategies, identifying cost-saving opportunities, leading negotiations with suppliers, building relationships with stakeholders, evaluating supplier competencies, managing RFPs, and managing supplier relationships. Requires excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills. The role also involves preparing and coordinating business reviews with stakeholders to review vendor performance and future opportunities.

Job Details

Highly motivated technology procurement professional with excellent analytic and sourcing best practice skills. Experience managing enterprise hardware, software and services sourcing initiatives. The Buyer is a sourcing professional, negotiator, and project manager accountable for end-end sourcing and contracting. This role provides essential procurement and supplier expertise in the areas of strategic sourcing and category management with strong commercial and contractual experience. This role will deliver high quality, innovative and proven cost-effective methodologies to support the company and department objectives. This role will interface and foster a collaborative environment with cross functional teams. This role requires exceptional verbal and written communication, strong organizational and time management skills.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop global sourcing strategies to deliver against business objectives for internal clients

  • Proactively identify, develop and execute on sourcing opportunities driving cost savings, cost avoidance, risk reduction, enhanced business outcomes and process improvements

  • Lead negotiations with new and existing suppliers

  • Establish trusting relationships with senior level leadership and internal business partners; building a robust understanding of strategic business direction, requirements, and priorities across spend categories.

  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and benchmarking analysis; leveraging key-insights to inform and support the category strategy development process.

  • Manage the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities including RFP's, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation.

  • Prepare and coordinate business reviews with stakeholders to review vendor performance, future opportunities, and/or challenges.

  • Manage critical supplier relationships

  • Lead the resolution of disputes with suppliers.

  • Consummate deals by placing and managing the Purchase Order process
