Job Summary

Job Description

Frima is seeking a UI Designer to join its UI/UX team. The role involves illustrating and designing interface elements for video games, conducting visual research, creating sketches, conceptualizing and realizing interfaces, and defining the visual style of games. Responsibilities also include developing flowcharts, assembling and integrating designs within the Unreal game engine, and documenting processes. Frima offers a 4.5-day work week, flexible work arrangements (remote, hybrid, or in-person), generous vacation time, comprehensive insurance, and RRSP contributions. Must have:
  • College training in graphic design, multimedia or relevant discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience in video game interface design
  • Excellent technical knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of Unreal game engines
  • Knowledge of user/machine behavior (ergonomics)
  • English skills required
  • Portfolio and/or demo required

Ce à quoi ressembleront tes semaines
  • Illustration et conception des éléments d'interface des jeux vidéo;
  • Recherches visuelles;
  • Esquisses, conceptualisation et réalisation des interfaces;
  • Participation à la définition du style visuel d'un jeu;
  • Élaboration des schémas de navigation (flowcharts);
  • Montage et intégration initiale des designs à l'intérieur du moteur de jeu unreal;
  • Documentation du fonctionnement des processus à l’équipe de production ou au client.

 

Ce que nous recherchons
  • Formation collégiale en design graphique, multimédia ou toute autre discipline pertinente;
  • Trois (3) à cinq (5) ans d'expérience dans la conception d'interfaces pour les jeux vidéo;
  • Excellentes connaissances techniques
  • Excellente connaissance du moteur de jeu Unreal;
  • Connaissances du comportement utilisateur/machine (ergonomie);
  • Des habiletés en anglais sont requises pour la réalisation du travail comme nous collaborons avec des partenaires anglophones.
  • Portfolio et/ou démo requis.

What your weeks are going to look like
  • Illustration and design of interface elements for video games;

  • Documentation of process operation to production team or customer.

 

What we're looking for
  • College training in graphic design, multimedia or other relevant discipline;
  • Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in video game interface design;
  • Excellent technical knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of Unreal game engines;
  • Knowledge of user/machine behavior (ergonomics);
  • English skills are required as we work with English-speaking partners.
  • Portfolio and/or demo required.
