Job Description

Voodoo seeks a talented VFX Artist to join its Live games team, working on Paper.io 2. This role involves creating high-quality 2D and 3D VFX, including motion graphics and animations for core gameplay, character abilities, and environmental effects. The successful candidate will collaborate with designers, artists, and developers, integrating 3D assets and VFX seamlessly into the game. Responsibilities include developing and implementing visual effects, optimizing VFX for performance, maintaining VFX pipelines, and troubleshooting technical issues. Experience with Maya or Blender is essential, with additional skills in ZBrush, Substance Painter, Houdini, and After Effects being beneficial. The role requires a strong portfolio showcasing a range of 2D/3D art and motion graphics.
Must have:
  • Proven VFX experience with strong portfolio
  • Proficiency in Maya or Blender
  • Unity real-time rendering experience
  • Understanding of particle systems and shaders
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Good to have:
  • ZBrush, Substance Painter, Houdini, After Effects
  • Shader development and optimization
  • Knowledge of animation principles

Team

Our Gaming team is made up of hybrid-casual, casual, and mid-core experts. Role

We are seeking a talented VFX Artist with to work on our Paper2.io game.
The ideal candidate will have a diverse skill set in VFX art creation and will be responsible for creating and implementing visual effects that enhance core gameplay and reward animations.
This role is crucial as we transition and expand our content creation, and the successful candidate will play a key part in delivering high-quality content and visual effects. The candidate will work closely with our developers to integrate new art features effectively.

Role

    • Creating high-quality 2D and 3D VFX, including motion graphics & animations
    • Developing and implementing visual effects for core gameplay, character abilities, environmental effects, and reward animations
    • Collaborating with designers, artists, and developers to integrate 3D assets and VFX seamlessly into the game
    • Working with developers to adapt and integrate new art features based on project specifications
    • Optimizing VFX for performance 
    • Developing and maintaining VFX pipelines and workflows to ensure efficient production processes
    • Troubleshooting and solving technical issues related to motion graphics & animations & VFX creation and implementation

Profile

    • Proven experience as a VFX Artist with a strong portfolio demonstrating a range of 2D/3D art, motion graphics & animations
    • Proficiency with Maya or Blender. ZBrush, Substance Painter, Houdini, After Effects would be a plus
    • Experience with Unity real-time rendering
    • Solid understanding of particle systems, physics simulations, shaders, and scripting
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills
    • Experience with shader development and optimization techniques is preferred
    • Knowledge of animation principles and techniques is a plus
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
