Backend Developer – 21844

We’re looking to hire a Backend Developer - 21844 for a Global online marketplace platform, a dynamic, inclusive culture, championing innovation and global commerce while empowering individuals and creating unparalleled economic opportunities. 

You’ll join the Developing team to ensure system performance, security, and scalability, troubleshoot incidents, collaborate with teams, and maintain service health monitoring and improvements. This is a 1-3 month of contract opportunity. The role is fully remote.

Backend Developer - 21844 Responsibilities:  

• Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of production systems. 

• Serve as primary POC for LiveOps/GCX to address service incidents and troubleshoot/triage as appropriate. 

• Work with the core engineering team to address bugs and deploy services across different environments. 

• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to scale for service capacity and traffic spikes of 20x normal load during T1 events. 

• Provide recommendations for architecture and process improvements. 

• Create and maintain service health dashboards to monitor production systems. 

• Implement alarms where there are gaps in service health monitoring 

• Maintaining and updating our Live SOP 

Backend Developer - 21844 Requirements:  

• Experience with modern programming languages, e.g. Java, Go, C++ 

• Experience in building large, reliable, scalable distributed systems 

• Experience with building event-driven applications 

• Experience with designing and building RESTful APIs 

• Experience with modern DevOps principles and continuous delivery 

• Work closely w/ colleagues and customers in different functional groups and remote offices 

• Hands on experience with GraphQL is a big plus 

• Experience on web socket is a big plus
