Location: Katowice, Poland - Hybrid/Fully Remote

You will be a part of the team responsible for the maintenance and further development of the existing company near real time data streaming solutions in a cloud environment (AWS / GCP), which acts as a data integration system for delivering data to 3rd parties (mostly regulatory systems). This position is ideal for someone who would like to grow their skill in business requirements analysis and scoping, design and development of near real time data streaming processes, and AWS/GCP cloud services.

The candidate will be responsible for leading the data engineering team, which is tasked with maintenance and further development of data streaming processes, ensuring that the data streaming processes are robust and the data quality of delivered data is high. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring of streaming processes in production environment and clear communication with relevant business and technical stakeholders when issues arise.

Responsibilities:

• Business requirements and project scoping:

- Collaborate with business stakeholders on requirements analysis

- Data analysis of the source data (gaming platform) and mapping source data to target systems

- Project planning with the data team

- Participate in project update meetings with business stakeholders and product owners of the source system

- Detecting data issues on the source system and requesting improvements from source system tech teams, and follow up on those issues with data PO

• Design and develop:

- Near real time data processes with large and complex data sets, making sure the solution is maintainable, built with reusable components and with optimal performance

- Reconciliation processes that check the streamed data is of high quality, ensuring no data loss between source and target and alignment with core financial reports when applicable

• Focus on data quality assurance, verification of accuracy and consistency of data
• Collaborate with data warehouse team on data quality testing vs core financial reports
• Collaborate with QA team on source data and streaming processes testing
• Maintain and support data streaming processes ensuring the loads are stable and the data is delivered to the 3rd parties in the stipulated time
• Maintain clear communication with business about data load failures, inconsistent data and successful loads to the respective distribution groups
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the data engineering team
• Maintain transparent communication within the team / other technical and business departments within the company
• Participate in daily / weekly team / project update meetings
• Participate in brainstorming meetings to discuss existing issues and new ideas
• Develop further current skill set both from technological and soft skills perspective

About you:

• 6+ years of data-focused work experience (Data Streaming / Data Warehouse)
• Strong experience in business analysis and requirements gathering from business users
• Strong experience in data analysis and SQL query writing
• Ability to obtain, analyse and synthesize information from multiple sources
• Experience with scripting and programming languages like java, scala, python
• Strong experience with troubleshooting problems related to data processes
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Experience with GCP/AWS cloud platform services will be considered an asset
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment whilst interacting with a variety of different disciplines
• Ability to prioritise and deal with problems systematically and provide clear communications regarding the issues, resolution times and solutions
• Fluent in English

And then some nice to haves:

• Work experience on supporting a data warehouse / streaming systems would be considered an asset
• Experience within the iGaming industry and regulatory reporting would be considered an asset
• Hold an academic degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, computer science or mathematics will be considered an asset
