SOFTSWISS is seeking a Senior DevOps/System Engineer for their DataOps team. The role involves working on data infrastructure and CI/CD systems to enhance stability, automation, and scalability for data platforms. Key responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, building and managing production environments with Kubernetes, Pulumi, and Saltstack, improving GitLab CI/CD pipelines, monitoring infrastructure, responding to alerts, refining maintenance processes, and contributing to architectural design for scalable data systems. The technology stack includes Saltstack, Pulumi, Kubernetes, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Kafka, GitLab, Vault, Prometheus + Grafana, Zabbix, and ELK.
Must have:
- 3+ years in DevOps/SRE/System Engineering
- Linux administration and troubleshooting
- Infrastructure-as-code tools (Saltstack, Ansible, Terraform, Pulumi)
- Kubernetes in production
- Monitoring (Prometheus stack or Zabbix)
- GitLab CI/CD pipelines configuration
- Administering ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Kafka
- Communication skills and Russian/English B1+
Good to have:
- Spark, Trino, DataHub, or Tableau experience
- Familiarity with Vault, Elasticsearch, or domain management
- AI tools for DevOps/data workflow efficiency

Overview
SOFTSWISS is hiring a Senior DevOps/System Engineer to join our DataOps team.
Purpose of the Role
You’ll work on data infrastructure and CI/CD systems, driving stability, automation, and scalability for our data platforms and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to align infrastructure with product and data platform needs.
- Build and manage production and staging environments using Kubernetes, Pulumi, and Saltstack.
- Improve and support GitLab CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth, automated delivery.
- Monitor infrastructure and respond to alerts (including participating in day/night duty rotation).
- Continuously refine setup and maintenance processes for better reliability and automation.
- Contribute to the architectural design of complex, scalable data systems.
Technology Stack
Saltstack, Pulumi, Kubernetes, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Kafka, GitLab, Vault, Prometheus + Grafana, Zabbix, ELK.
Required Experience
- 3+ years in a DevOps, SRE, or System Engineering role.
- Deep understanding of Linux administration and troubleshooting.
- Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Saltstack, Ansible, Terraform, Pulumi).
- Solid knowledge of Kubernetes in a production environment.
- Strong monitoring experience using Prometheus stack or Zabbix.
- Proven experience configuring GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Expertise in administering ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, and Kafka.
- Strong communication skills and fluency in Russian, English B1+.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Spark, Trino, DataHub, or Tableau.
- Familiarity with Vault, Elasticsearch, or domain management.
- Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve DevOps efficiency or data workflows.
