Job Description

Tide is seeking a Director of Partnerships to lead their partnerships channel, focusing on new customer acquisition and revenue growth. The role requires deep UK expertise with a global perspective to drive Tide's expansion. Key responsibilities include developing and executing partnership strategies, managing the partnerships P&L, identifying and closing high-impact deals, building pipelines across various SME user categories, and overseeing partnership-led perks. The Director will also provide product insights, lead a team of partnership experts, and scale the approach into new European markets. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in Partnerships/Business Development, P&L management, and experience structuring complex deals.

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Director of Partnerships to scale our partnerships channel, driving new customer acquisition and revenue growth. This role requires deep UK expertise while also bringing a global perspective, ensuring Tide’s expansion beyond the UK market. ABOUT THE ROLE 

As our Director of Partnerships, you will be responsible for; 

  • Develop and execute a robust partnerships strategy to accelerate SME customer acquisition and revenue growth
  • Own the entire partnerships P&L, including staff costs, sales commissions, and revenue generated through acquired members
  • Pursue equal goals for member acquisition and revenue generation
  • Identify, negotiate, and close high-impact partnership deals that drive value for Tide and its SME customers
  • Build a pipeline through diverse SME user categories (e.g., Travel, F&B, Hospitality, Construction) and establish relationships with private and government associations
  • Oversee partnership-led perks and benefits for all members and exclusive offerings for paid plan members
  • Reduce deal cycle timelines and accelerate momentum, ensuring rapid impact
  • Provide actionable insights to the product team, identifying challenges faced by members and potential product enhancements to drive member activation and retention
  • Lead and grow a team of partnership experts, ensuring in-depth sector knowledge and strategic deal structuring
  • Scale the partnerships approach into additional European markets by leveraging proven expertise in these regions

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • At least 10+ years of experience in Partnerships/Business Development within a fast-paced environment. You’ll be used to structuring and closing high-impact and complex deals that drive customer growth and revenue.
  • Experience managing P&L, including sales commissions and revenue streams - and in leading teams. You will also ensure the partnership team upholds compliance standards and best practice, resulting in responsible and customer-centric partnerships.
  • You will bring deep UK partnerships expertise combined with international exposure; giving you an ability to execute deals in multiple markets. 
  • It’s an advantage if you can bring existing experience of working within a fast-growing FinTech, marketplace/platform business or from a digital banking scaleup. Knowledge of the SME sector or other financial service networks (e.g. accounting, acquiring, credit) is also desirable. 
  • You’ll be able to drive initiatives with urgency - driving quick wins while also delivering long-term strategic impact and taking a data-driven approach to decision making.
