Summary

The Finance Manager in Malta will lead the financial team, reporting to the Director of Equivalent Malta and functionally to the group CFO. Responsibilities include preparing financial regulatory reports for the MFSA under MIFID, monitoring monthly operating results, assisting with budgeting/forecasting, preparing management presentations, ensuring regulatory capital requirements are met, managing annual audited financial statements, liaising with auditors, assisting with tax returns, and providing payroll support. The role requires extensive knowledge of IFRS, Maltese accounting standards, MFSA and MIFID compliance, and managing direct/indirect taxation.
Must have:
  • 6+ years finance experience

We are seeking a Finance Manager to lead the financial team in Malta. You will report directly to the Director of Eqvilent Malta with a functional reporting to the group CFO.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Preparation of financial regulatory reports for the MFSA under MIFID regulation.
  • Preparation, monitoring, and analysis of monthly operating results.
  • Assistance with budgeting/forecasting and tracking actual results to budget.
  • Preparation of presentations for management on financial results and key performance metrics.
  • Ensuring regulatory capital requirements are met.
  • Managing the preparation and/or supervision of the annual audited financial statements.
  • Acting as primary liaison with auditors on financial audits.
  • Assistance with the preparation of corporate tax returns and monthly tax filings.
  • Providing assistance with employee payroll administration.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU:

  • 6+ years’ experience working as a finance associate.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and Maltese local requirements).
  • Understanding of the MFSA and MIFID compliance, cross border transactions, transfer pricing regulations, conducting statutory audits and Stock
  • Exchange related compliances.
  • Good exposure to managing direct and indirect taxation and the expertise results in accurate financial reporting and efficient account management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Great analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Superb organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in recognized ERP software would be an added advantage.
