Production Director

A Production Director at Electric Square Malta:

• Lead and mentor other producers and foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Establish and continuously improve production methodologies and tools to enhance efficiency and quality across the studio.
• Collaborate with Production Leaders and their teams to deliver high-quality outcomes while maintaining a balance between cost and schedule.
• Oversee all aspects of project management, including scheduling, task management, risk assessment, and change management. Utilize project management tools and methodologies to ensure efficient and transparent communication across teams.
• Work closely with the Production team to align with the studio’s slate and goals, focusing on staff development, training, and long-term priorities.
• Provide senior studio management and external stakeholders with comprehensive updates on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with Heads of Discipline, P&C, and Finance teams to take primary responsibility for studio resource planning.
• Champion initiatives that promote a collaborative, high-quality, and inclusive studio culture, ensuring alignment with company values and fostering healthy working practices.
• Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the wider Electric Square studios group.
• Partner with the Studio Head to implement innovative production techniques and processes, enhancing efficiency and quality.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies, including proactive problem-solving and contingency planning.
• Ensure all production practices reflect the company’s values and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Manage the studio’s overall allocation across multiple projects and collaborations, as well as responsibility for studio utilisation targets.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including the development teams, clients, senior management, and other studios leadership. Provide regular progress updates and reports, both from a project and studio aspect.

Requirements:

• Relevant prior experience in a Production leadership role within the games industry, managing large-scale projects.
• Proven track record of shipping multiple AAA console and PC games.
• Visionary leader with the ability to deliver operational excellence in complex, dynamic environments.
• Deep knowledge of game development production methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring Producers and inspiring multi-disciplinary teams to achieve their best.
• Outstanding organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt across diverse contexts.
• Advanced proficiency in production management tools (e.g., JIRA or similar).
• Proven success in managing teams in hybrid-remote environments, demonstrating adaptability to evolving workplace dynamics.
• Extensive experience working with large global IP and brand stakeholders, ensuring alignment and delivering exceptional player experiences.
