Job Description

This Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist position involves leading the forecasting process, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, and presenting variance analysis. The role includes participating in the monthly accounting close and providing commentary. The specialist will also assist in the annual incentive plan scoring process. The candidate should be proactive, resourceful, demonstrate intellectual curiosity, and have the ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. This role requires frequent interaction with various teams within the organization.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, auditing, or similar
  • Understanding of accounting and controlling methods
  • Solid understanding of financial planning processes and budgeting
  • Proficiency in Workday, MS Excel, BI Tools, PowerPoint and/or other IT tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and social skills

Job Details

We are seeking a high energy and innovative professional to join the Financial Planning & Analysis team. Our team is responsible for consolidating, analyzing, and reporting the forecasted financial results of the Human Resource Team (People@Nasdaq) and Compensation and Benefit Function, preparing the monthly forecast, long range plan and annual budget, as well as implementing and improving processes and procedures to measure our success. This position involves frequent interaction with People@Nasdaq leaders, FP&A colleagues, Business Unit CFO organizations and Corporate Accounting

  • Forecasting: Lead the forecasting process for People@Nasdaq team monthly forecast, Long-Range Planning, and annual budgets 
  • Reporting: Build and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, understand changes and drivers, present variance and trending analysis to People@Nasdaq leaders, Business Unit CFO, and Corporate Finance team
  • Accounting Close: Participate in monthly accounting close and provide commentary for variances to People@Nasdaq leaders, and Corporate Finance and Accounting teams
  • Assist in annual incentive plan scoring process and support Compensation and benefit function closing, forecast and allocation
  • Performs other ad-hoc business reporting, analysis and automation project as needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field; CPA preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, auditing, management or similar
  • Shown understanding of accounting and knowledge in common controlling methods and models
  • Solid understanding of financial planning business processes and budgeting
  • Proficiency in utilizing Workday, OneStream, MS Excel, BI Tools, PowerPoint and/or other IT tools to perform Business and Financial Control / models
  • Excellent interpersonal and social skills, having the ability to challenge when required
  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be proactive, resourceful, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity
  • Work independently, with attention to detail and ability to ensure quality and accuracy of output.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment

The base pay range for this role is $73,400 - $122,400. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
