Job Description

Google is seeking an Imaging System Architect to lead development of imaging systems for consumer hardware products. This role involves researching cutting-edge mobile and future form factor technologies, performing simulations and testing to define imaging requirements for eye, head, and hand tracking, and defining imaging experience priorities and performance targets for multi-camera systems. Collaboration with System PD/EE, Camera Hardware, and Android Software teams is essential. Responsibilities include developing imaging systems, defining imaging requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of photo/video processing, ISP algorithms, multi-camera calibration, and computer vision.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • 4 years of experience in imaging systems (or 3 years with advanced degree)
  • Experience with MATLAB or Python
  • Imaging requirements definition for eye/head/hand tracking
  • Knowledge of photo/video processing, ISP algorithms, and computer vision
Good to have:
  • Experience with simulations and proof-of-concept testing
  • Multi-camera calibration expertise
  • Computational photography knowledge
  • Strong communication skills

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in an Imaging Systems technical environment, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Software development experience in a scripting language such as MATLAB or Python.
  • Experience developing or performing simulation to map imaging requirements to KPIs for eye tracking, hand tracking, or head tracking.
  • Experience performing proof of concept testing to define imaging requirements for consumer devices.
  • In-depth knowledge of one or more of the following: Photo and video processing pipelines, ISP algorithms, multi-camera calibration, computational photography, computer vision, machine vision, illumination design.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
