Job Summary
Lead Environment Artist responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of environment art production within a game development project. Responsibilities include collaborating with the Producer and Art Director to ensure timely asset completion, maintaining production quality and art style, coordinating daily art production processes, creating asset creation briefs and training materials, defining tools and pipelines, preparing content submissions for clients, establishing artistic goals, identifying areas for artist growth, and communicating project status. The role requires close interaction with other artists, project managers, and clients, demanding strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as 3ds Max, Maya, Zbrush, and Photoshop is essential.

Responsibilities
- Work with Producer and Art Director to ensure timely completion of game environment assets
- Maintain production appearance, including quality and art style
- Be responsible for coordinating and facilitating day-to-day art production processes for the project
- Create briefs and documents for asset creation and training
- Participate in defining tools and art production pipeline; understand advantages and limitations of technology and develop strategies for maximizing performance
- Prepare content submission packages to be sent to clients, and ensure all content is actual, organized, quality-checked and ready to be submitted to client review in-time
- Participate in the establishment of short and long-term artistic goals
- Be responsible for identifying and recommending areas of artistic growth of each artist of their team
- Be fully aware of the client’s expectations for upcoming content drops, or rejected assets
- Communicate regularly with the Project Manager and Art Director regarding status of current project milestones
- Interact with (Lead) Artist or Manager on client/partner side
- Investigate client technology and train team artists in using it
- Assist monitoring team wellbeing and identifying potential risks
- Work with Technical artists on constant optimization of the graphical content
- Take an active part in team art discussions, critiques and reviews
Requirements
- At least 1 published game as an Environment\Level Artist on PC or console platform
- 6+ years of experience as a professional game development Environment\3D Artist
- Experience in leading a team of artists
- Proficient awareness of the software packages and tools of the games industry
- Solid experience of using Unreal
- Being an expert in at least three areas of artistic production
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create results driven and team-oriented environment
- Open minded
- Self-motivation, great communication skills, and a great team-player attitude
- English from B2
- Solid experience in modeling, sculpting and texturing environment components using 3ds Max, Maya, Zbrush and Photoshop (or equivalent packages) shown in portfolio
