ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

 

As a QA engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with team of Linux OS engineers and be responsible for monitoring, executing and reporting of software builds as well as improving performance and maintaining the build systems for Linux OS team to be used in Telecommunications, A&D, Industrial and Medical applications.  You should have 6+ years of Linux platform working experience including build tools and setting up software build systems.

 

ABOUT YOU

 

Core Competencies & Demonstrated Success 

 

  • Strong troubleshooting ability. 
  • A self-motivated person with a high sense of responsibility. 
  • Good understanding of developer’s workflow is a plus. 
  • Experience in developing, monitoring, and/or sustaining build system. 
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining AWS instances and build systems  
  • Experience and knowledge of software and/or Linux distribution build process is a plus. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop test cases and automation for the existing Build system locally and/or hosted git-lab on AWS. 
  • Provide AWS infrastructure support for the source, binary, build servers.
  • Add specific features to optimize the build process either for daily build or for internal users. 
  • Fix build defects reported by internal users and maintain build systems. 
  • Monitoring security issues and keep the software on build servers up to date. 
  • Design and implement use cases for various Linux Builds system components such as software bill of materials. 
  • Design, deliver and maintain cloud infrastructure, spanning on-perm, AWS and native cloud. 
  • Develop infrastructure code support automated provisioning, deployment, and configuration of cloud resources, as well as GitLab resources. 
  • Integrate open source or independent software vendors' software components. 
  • Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure tools. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related majors. 
  • At least 6+ years Linux platform working experience, as user experience including build tools and setting up software build systems. 
  • 4+ years of experience in developing DevOps and software environments 
  • 2+ years of experience with setting up and using AWS, Google, Azure cloud. 
  • Developing experience and familiarity with language C, python and Shell programming. 
  • Experience with git, Jenkins are required. 
  • Experience with OSTree, OBS, Terraform and Puppet, Sensu and Mesos is highly recommended. 
  • Experience with container technology, including docker, kubernetes, Helm ...etc. 
  • Have knowledge and experience on Linux distributions (Debian, CentOS, OpenSuse, etc), skilled in deb, apt, yum, rpm, dpkg and other system tools 
  • Skilled in various debug tools under Linux, for example gdb, strace, and ftrace, 
  • Good understanding of Agile and DevOps concepts.
