Job Summary:

Walt Disney Japan is seeking a strategic, self-motivated, experienced, and creative PR professional for the role of Manager for Corporate Communications. The candidate should demonstrate a proven track record and experience in corporate communications, covering executive thought leadership, corporate reputation, issues management, internal communications and media / influence relations.

As a key member of the team, this individual will be responsible for strategic media relations to deliver our corporate narrative across our various business lines. You will also support the Head of Japan Corporate Communications on the implementation of Disney's Corporate Social Responsibility initiative projects to create positive, lasting impact to the local community.

The candidate should be a strategic thinker and enjoy working in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder dynamic environment, and need to be fluent in Japanese and English.

Responsibilities:

  • Support External and Internal Communications for Walt Disney Japan, build and establish an external integrated communications strategy to enhance Disney’s corporate brand reputation as a leading entertainment company.
  • Support Internal Communications for Walt Disney Japan, establish integrated internal communications that enhance employee motivation and foster a sense of belonging.
  • Execute day-to-day communications strategies and campaigns, including ongoing storytelling and key programs.
  • Draft and manage approvals of internal and external communications materials.
  • Build excellent relationships with key media, KOLs and influencers, as well as internal stakeholders (business, marketing, HR, partnership, corporate functions)

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in Corporate Communications / Public Relations, across corporate brand management, executive communications, strategic media relations, issues management and internal communications.
  • Experience working at a leading PR agency in Japan across multiple accounts and industries is preferred.
  • Interest, knowledge and networks in U.S. and Japanese entertainment, media and consumer industry a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills (Japanese and English), with ability to draft strong pitch stories, press materials, speeches and reports. Experience working in a global organization, managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge of media and entertainment landscape and various digital PR channels.
  • Experience executing successful and complex communications campaigns and press/internal events.
  • Adaptable and able to multi-task and work in a dynamic, international environment across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working with PR agencies.
  • Willingness to learn a wide scope of tasks within Corporate Communications.
  • TOEIC score of 850 or above.
