Job Description:

Manage a set of client relationships, supervise and provide a detailed review of the work of tax senior and staff.

Identify, resolve and document complex tax issues working closely with the VP and SVP.

FUNCTIONS:

Reporting and Problem-resolution

  • Assist VP and SVP in managing and reviewing the work of tax staff  throughout the year and managing all internal and external deadlines;
  • Assist VP and SVP for the accurate and timely tax reporting (including estimates) of funds;
  • Provide timely and high-quality work products that exceeds client expectations;
  • Identify and resolve tax issues (consult with VP/SVP as needed) and address complex client requests;

Manage Team

  • Train tax staff and Seniors on proper workpaper/return preparation and processes;
  • Ensure quality service is being provided to clients by all employees working on client assignments;
  • Implement and maintain detailed timeline and ensure that everyone  works towards timely deliverables;
  • Keeping team members informed work status and proactively seeking opportunities to provide tax services
  • More complex ad hoc requests and research

Develop Tax Staff

  • Assist VP in development of tax staff – develop technical, analytical, time management, organizational and supervisory skills;
  • Prepare and deliver performance evaluations for tax staff and participate in review sessions;

Maintain High-Quality Communications

  • Escalate important developments in a timely manner to VP/SVP;
  • Respond timely to client requests; and,
  • Hold regular team meetings to encourage tax staff feedback on all issues;

Enhance Operations and Industry Knowledge

  • Recommend and implement tax system, workpaper and process/workflow enhancements.
  • Remain informed of applicable tax changes and of industry developments;
  • Work on ad hoc projects as required;
