This Fall/Spring Trainee position is from Fall through 2025 (start and end dates are flexible based on your schedule) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location. This type of opportunity will jump-start your career and prepare you for a career in the desired field. This is not a remote role. A hybrid work option may or may not be available.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Scheduling & Acquisitions department at Game Show Network is responsible for creating linear schedules and selecting programming for 10 (and growing!) individual networks spanning cable, diginets and FAST channels. We are an important piece of the workflow that gets each channel on the air. Our networks include series and movies from the vast Sony library, outside distributors and original game shows conceived and created in-house.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing daily functions in the scheduling database to coordinate and maintain the assigned schedules as needed
- Creating and compiling detailed metadata for non-linear or other platforms in various formats and communicating with appropriate vendors and clients
- Generating and distributing program schedule grids and reports to internal and external partners
- Working closely with Traffic, Operations and other departments to ensure timings and schedule data accurately flow between databases
- Creating, utilizing, and maintaining various spreadsheets and air orders, including heavy data entry
- Conducting research and record-keeping related to movie content, potential acquisitions, stunt scheduling, standards, and competitive networks
- Scheduling at least one FAST network, including building and scheduling episodes in database
- Providing administrative and back-up support for other team members when needed
- Completing special projects and ad-hoc duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS Degree
- The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong eye for detail, an ability to meet deadlines, a positive attitude, and will express eagerness to contribute to the company’s success
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and address potential issues before they arise
- Proven attention to detail skills are a must
- Well-organized and excels at time management, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines
- Ability to follow directives but not hesitant to ask questions
- Strong interpersonal skills; works well collaboratively and independently
- Experience with all MS Office software
- Very comfortable with heavy internet research and data entry
- Genuine desire to be proactive during downtime and to help other team members succeed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous internships, office or other job experience
The anticipated base salary for this position is $22/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
