About The Role

As a Senior Android Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Android experience for Bonial’s products in Germany and France. Your work will impact millions of users across high-traffic apps like KaufDA, MeinProspekt, and Bonial. You’ll collaborate within a cross-functional team, designing and delivering cutting-edge features while ensuring app quality and stability.

Job requirements

Your Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on the conception, evaluation, and implementation of new features and software architectures
• Write and maintain unit tests, real-device tests, performance, and stability tests
• Conduct code reviews and enhance our continuous integration pipelines
• Develop and refine mobile applications with a focus on cross-platform solutions
• Contribute to high-quality, scalable, and stable international products
• Work with innovative tools and methods, including AWS, Firebase, Bitrise, SonarCloud, and SauceLabs
• Explore automation testing concepts and continuous integration
• Build and maintain apps in the spirit of Lean/Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban, or Scrum-ban)
• Ensure app stability and scalability, contributing to high-traffic international products

What We're Looking For:

• Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on Android development with Kotlin (and familiarity with Java)
• Tech Skills:
• Proficiency in Kotlin Coroutines
• Experience with Jetpack Compose
• Experience with working Gradle Command line
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTPS, and JSON
• Engineering Expertise:
• Strong domain modeling and architecture skills, with the ability to base engineering decisions on product vision
• Knowledge of best practices in CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and clean code principles
• Experience with working on the same code base with other Android Developers
• Experience in software design and modern architectures like MVVM and MVI
• Team Player:
• A collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
• A proactive attitude with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Communication: Fluent in English (German is not required)

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with large-scale projects and cross-functional teams
• A passion for challenging the status quo and exploring current trends in mobile development
• Experience with Web Development
• Familiarity with working with command line in linux or macOS
