They will also oversee end-to-end workflows, collaborate with various teams, and act as a liaison between APAC offices and global HQ. The role involves analyzing data, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiency. The candidate should be independent, self-motivated, and proactive. This role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, consistent quality, and the successful adoption of new technologies and best practices.

Role Summary:

The Production Innovation & Operations Manager plays a key role in shaping and continuously improving production and post-production workflows across APAC. This position is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, consistent quality, and the successful adoption of new technologies and best practices.

Success in this role requires a strategic, forward-thinking mindset and strong instincts. The ideal candidate is independent, self-motivated, and proactive—able to anticipate challenges and develop effective solutions before issues arise. They are technically adept, humble enough to learn and embrace new tools, and discerning enough to rigorously evaluate and implement them. This role collaborates closely with technology, accounts, finance, and other teams, driving initiatives that support business growth and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team specializing in creative adaptation edits, quality control, and production operations.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development of team members.
  • Provide regular management reports on team performance, workflow efficiency, project status, and key operational metrics.

Workflow Standardization & Operational Efficiency

  • Lead regional initiatives to unify and standardize production and post-production workflows in alignment with global standards.
  • Design and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure consistency and interoperability across teams in Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, China, and India.
  • Maintain, monitor, and continuously improve established remote working capabilities for complex production workflows, ensuring business continuity, cost-effectiveness, and consistent output quality.

Scheduling, Resource Management & Compliance

  • Maintain, control, and optimize scheduling systems for people, rooms, and licenses using the designated Hogarth scheduling tool.
  • Ensure best practices and correct workflows are followed for resource allocation and utilization.
  • Supervise procurement and usage of digital assets (e.g., fonts, stock, music) for broadcast, digital, and print channels, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.

Innovation, Automation & Technology Implementation

  • Identify, evaluate, and deploy AI-driven solutions (e.g., facial dubbing, upscaling), automation tools, and emerging technologies to enhance output quality, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Demonstrate humility and curiosity in learning and adopting new tools, while applying technical expertise to assess their true value and effectiveness.
  • Use excellent instincts and technical acumen to make informed decisions, ensuring the right solutions are implemented and that you are not misled by vendors or superficial trends.
  • Continuously assess and improve production and post-production processes through technology adoption and best practices.

Production Workflow Oversight

  • Oversee and maintain end-to-end workflows from shoot planning through delivery, ensuring processes are efficient, cost-effective, compliant, and deliver high-quality outputs.
  • Set and update best practices for asset management, storage, and workflow design, balancing quality, compliance, storage costs, and ease-of-use for teams.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and advisor to producers and project teams, providing guidance and second opinions on workflow challenges and improvements.

Strategic & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Think long-term and proactively identify opportunities or risks that may impact future operations, implementing preventative solutions.
  • Work independently and demonstrate self-motivation in moving projects and initiatives forward.
  • Collaborate closely with technology, accounts, finance, and other internal teams to align operational goals, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.

Regional Collaboration, Stakeholder Management & Global Alignment

  • Act as a key liaison between APAC offices and global HQ, effectively communicating regional needs and pushing forward APAC-led initiatives while balancing global requirements.
  • Manage and influence stakeholders at all levels, ensuring successful implementation of projects and initiatives that drive success for the APAC region.
  • Advise APAC broadcast offices (Indonesia, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, India, Australia) on workflow matters.
  • Lead knowledge transfer and capability migration projects between regional hubs, including developing knowledge management portals and providing on-site training.
  • Continuous Improvement & Business Support
  • Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that drive efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies across all production activities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing production or creative operations teams in a multi-regional environment.
  • Strong understanding of production and post-production workflows and related technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead workflow standardization and change management initiatives.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining new technologies (AI tools, automation, remote workflows) in a production setting.
  • Humility and curiosity to learn and use new tools; technical savvy to rigorously evaluate and implement them.
  • Excellent instincts and judgment to make sound decisions and avoid being misled by vendors or trends.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with global headquarters and advocating for regional interests.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, think strategically, and develop innovative, long-term solutions.
  • Self-driven, independent, and proactive approach to work.
  • Experience in training program design and delivery.
  • Familiarity with content creation for digital, broadcast, and print channels is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Communications, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Experience in an agency or global media production environment.
  • Knowledge of APAC media markets and cultural nuances.
