Seedworld Studios is seeking a Senior or Middle Technical Artist with strong Unreal Engine expertise. This role involves implementing and optimizing shaders and environment assets, troubleshooting technical issues in Blueprints, and supporting asset and environment integration for efficient game production. The Technical Artist will collaborate with artists and programmers on profiling and optimization to achieve desired game performance. Responsibilities include optimizing performance, leading QA efforts, fixing graphic bugs, integrating and validating graphic data, ensuring technical art constraints are met, collaborating with leads and QA, utilizing and improving tools and workflows, sharing best practices, and maintaining documentation.
Must have:
  • Experience with Unreal Engine and performance profiling.
  • Strong understanding of the Graphic Rendering Pipeline for next-gen technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge in game development, including Modeling & Texturing, Scripting/Tools Development, Lighting, Shaders (PBR/GLSL/HLSL), VFX.
  • Proficiency in Source Control (Perforce).
  • Experience in cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Experience with programming knowledge (Python, Unreal Blueprints, C++).
  • Expertise in 3D development software (Maya, 3Ds Max, Houdini or Blender).

Job Details

Seedworld Studios is looking for a Senior or Middle Technical Artist with strong expertise in Unreal Engine. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and optimizing shader and environment assets, diagnosing technical issues in Blueprints, and supporting the integration and setup of assets and environments within the engine to ensure efficient, high-quality game production. A Technical Artist will work closely with artists and programmers to help with the profiling and optimization to achieve targeted game performance. You will participate in the implementation of technical art features, develop tools and workflows, and will perform debugging on tools and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Optimization and profiling to ensure peak performance on all platforms, especially next-gen
· Lead QA efforts to ensure that assets are 100% optimal, bug-free and shippable
· Ensure that graphic bugs are fixed according to priorities and provide support to other artists
· Integrate, validate, and optimize graphic data in the engine by using scripts if needed
· Act as the gatekeeper of Technical Art constraints, pushing for optimal balance of visual quality and performance
· Work with Art Leads, Engineering Leads, and QA to ensure that all assets conform to technical and artistic requirements
· Use the latest tools and methods to improve and facilitate the graphic workload
· Maintain and improve production pipelines and workflows
· Share best practices, conduct training sessions, and mentor the team to ensure proper use of tools and methods
· Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation on tools, methods, processes, and engine constraints for consultation and future reference

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Unreal Engine and performance profiling and optimization tools
Strong understanding of the Graphic Rendering Pipeline for next-gen technologies
Extensive knowledge in game development, including Modeling & Texturing, Scripting/Tools Development, Lighting, Shaders (PBR/GLSL/HLSL), VFX.
Proficiency in Source Control (Perforce)
Experience in cross-disciplinary collaboration between artists, programmers, and technical directors
Experience with programming knowledge (Python, Unreal Blueprints, C++)
Expertise in 3D development softwares (Maya, 3Ds Max, Houdini or Blender)
Eagerness to learn and implement new next-gen technologies for games
Ability to work under pressure, quickly learn new skills and foster strong relationships within the team
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage complex workflows

 Location:
100% remote
