Senior Photonics Engineer, Platforms Infrastructure

The Platforms Optics team at Google develops and delivers cutting-edge optical technologies for data center networking and machine learning infrastructure. As a Senior Photonics Engineer, you'll design next-generation optical interconnect technologies for machine learning systems, collaborating with optics and machine learning teams. Responsibilities include designing low-cost, high-speed optical transceivers, architecting optical systems to enhance machine learning performance, researching emerging photonic technologies, and exploring optical solutions for future computing systems. You will work to define and implement optical technology roadmaps supporting future-generation machine learning systems. The role requires expertise in photonic devices, optical components, packaging techniques, and ideally, digital coherent optical transmission systems.
