Samsung is seeking a Senior System Software Engineer to join their Global Open Ecosystem Team. What You’ll Do

Are you interested in collaborating with industry’s open ecosystem leaders? Consider joining the Global Open Ecosystem Team (GOST) which builds emerging ecosystems to support Samsung hardware. Our team is comprised of key contributors to open standards and open source projects such as the Linux kernel, xNVME, fio and the Storage Performance Development Kit (https://spdk.io).

 

In this role you will work closely with our memory management experts to support enablement of Samsung memory hardware. This role includes a mix of upstream open-source contributions and support for internal Samsung projects.

  • Understand and contribute to Linux OS memory management software to enable application optimizations
  • Contribute internally and externally to key applications such as in-memory databases and AI pipelines to optimize application performance on Samsung hardware
  • Debug, root cause and fix issues identified in memory management systems software impacting Samsung memory hardware and provide internal and external documentation
  • Build expertise to support teams within Samsung that are reliant on memory management expertise
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

 

Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose office/headquarters 2-3 days per week with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

What You Bring:

    • Bachelors + 5 years; Masters + 3years of experience or Ph.D. in computer science/ related field.
    • Systems software development experience preferred (including operating and systems software)
    • Ability to clearly communicate ideas, concepts and determine solutions leveraging open source software

Individual pay rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location, as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education, and training. Base Pay Range

$132,000 - $198,000 USD
