Canva is seeking an SMB Account Executive to drive sales growth within the small and medium-sized business market. This role involves conducting outbound sales activities, identifying potential clients, understanding their needs, and tailoring Canva's solutions to meet those needs. The successful candidate will build strong client relationships, exceed sales targets, collaborate with internal teams, and maintain accurate sales records using a CRM system. They will proactively engage with clients through various channels (phone, email), present Canva's value proposition, and ensure a seamless customer experience. The position requires strong sales acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment. Experience in B2B or SMB sales is highly beneficial.

Our flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia but we have a swanky new office in London that has all the bells and whistles. Even though you'll find us in Shoreditch, you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

Our team consists of experienced Account Executives who have a passion for building relationships with customers who love our product.

Our Account Executives work closely with our customers to understand their goals and provide tailored solutions to meet their needs. Whether it's creating eye-catching pitch decks for their sales teams, designing creative marketing materials at scale, or ensuring everyone is on-brand, our team has the expertise to help our customers in all departments succeed.

We're teaming up with colleagues across the board - from Product to Marketing - all supporting our sales team. As we branch out into new markets and develop fresh Enterprise solutions, we're crafting something truly unique. Together, we're redesigning work.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • You’ll conduct outbound sales activities to identify, prospect, and engage with SMB clients.
  • You’ll develop a deep understanding of SMB customers' needs, pain points, and objectives to tailor Canva's solutions effectively.
  • You’ll proactively reach out to potential SMB clients via phone, email, and other channels to present Canva's value proposition and product offerings.
  • You’ll build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with SMB clients through regular communication, follow-up, and exceptional customer service.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams, including Sales & Success, Marketing, and Product, to optimize the sales process and ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • You’ll meet and exceed sales targets and performance metrics, including monthly quotas and conversion rates.
  • You’ll keep accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline management using our CRM system.
  • You’ll stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and product developments to effectively position Canva in the SMB market segment.

You're probably a match if

  • You have a proven track record of success in outbound sales or account management roles, preferably in a B2B or SMB-focused environment.
  • You have strong sales acumen with excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • You have a results-oriented mindset with a passion for driving revenue growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • You have the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • You have familiarity with CRM and outreach software (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach IO, Sales Navigator and Gong)
  • You have prior experience in the tech industry, SaaS sales, or working with SMB clients is a plus.

Our Sales and Success team support Canva Enterprise, with the mission to empower every organisation to design. Canva Enterprise lets organisations consolidate design, content production, and collaboration tools under one secure and centralised account. From whiteboards to docs, to presentations and our AI platform magic Studio, our Sales team work with all departments empowering them to create and collaborate at scale.
