The Solutions Sales Specialist - Azure Data & AI role within Microsoft's UK Azure Data & AI Solution Sales Team focuses on transforming enterprise customers. Responsibilities include growing the business with enterprise accounts, maintaining a healthy pipeline of Data & AI opportunities, driving data strategies and solutions (modern data warehousing, analytics, insights, governance platforms, AI, and ML), and acting as a solution sales expert. This involves leading a virtual team, exceeding quarterly revenue targets, and serving as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in Data Modernization, Analytics, and AI. The role requires collaborating with customers to leverage data for business priorities, evaluating applications, recommending solutions, and demonstrating them to win technical decisions. The specialist also collaborates with Global Partner Solutions (GPS) and internal teams to drive sales and achieve business objectives.

Overview

This role sits within the UK Azure Data & AI Solution Sales Team and is critical for transforming our enterprise customers. In this role, you will be responsible for growing our business with enterprise accounts. You will be responsible for maintaining a healthy pipeline of Data & AI opportunities which will grow our business. 

 

You will drive data strategies and solutions in partnership with our customers, including modern data warehousing, analytics, insights, and governance platforms, as well as AI and ML solutions.

 

As an Azure Data & AI Specialist you will be a solution sales expert within our enterprise sales organisation working with our most important customers on their Data & AI Strategy. You will lead a virtual team with technical, delivery, partner and consulting experience to advance the sales process and achieve/exceed quarterly Data & AI revenue and usage/consumption targets in your assigned accounts.  

  

The Data & AI team acts as trusted advisors and Data & AI (Artificial Intelligence) subject matter experts with core capability and expertise in Data Modernisation, Analytics and AI. Working with customers to leverage data to help them achieve their business priorities and help guide customer’s journey through AI led Azure Data transformation. We also support customers in evaluating their applications and business requirements, recommend solutions that meet their requirements, and demonstrate these solutions to win the technical decision.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Experience in technology related Sales/Solution Sales in a reputable software company 
  • A track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets 
  • Experience working with complex enterprise customers 

  

Additional or Preferred Qualifications : 

  • Experience selling business solutions to global customers with a focus on data platform and Analytics & AI technologies  
  • Experience working with Data solutions: Cloud-based Data Warehouse, Databricks, Hadoop, Spark, Data Lake, SQL; MySQL, PostreSQL, NoSQL (Mongo), PowerBI and/or Machine Learning solutions. 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Sales Execution- Engages in conversation with customers aligned to their industry and collaborates with account and partner team to drive and qualify new opportunities and build pipeline. Identifies customer business and technology readiness, proactively builds external stakeholders' mapping, implements strategies to accelerate the closing of deals, contributes input on strategies to drive and close prioritized opportunities, coaches team members in deal plan execution, and implements close plans.
  • Scaling and Collaboration- Collaborates with Global Partner Solutions (GPS), identifies new partners, develops joint proposals with partners, and contributes to developing partner strategies. Applies role orchestration model and navigates the Microsoft organization to bring the best impact to the customer.​
  • Technical Expertise- Leads conversations and sets up events within Microsoft, mentors others and develops strategies for best practice sharing, initiates conversations with prospective customers/partners at events, acts as a subject matter expert in one or more solution area(s). Collaborates with the 'compete' global black belts (GBB) to analyse competitor products, solutions, and/or services and implement strategies. ​
  • Delivers Results Through Teamwork- Drives the execution of projects, partners and collaborates with other teams on related deliverables, and leverages others in relevant work streams.​
