Job Description

The Technical Lead at Prose on Pixels (POP) is responsible for successfully managing the agency’s projects by mitigating technical risks and seizing opportunities. They will be involved in key software design and implementation decisions, review technical task schedules, assist in effort estimations, manage change requests, and guarantee the quality of deliverables. They will also provide support and solutions for technical roadblocks, act as the point of contact for the on-site development team, and participate in hiring, assessment, and review processes for the technical team. This role requires leadership in managing developers, developing development strategies, providing technical direction, ensuring quality assurance, solving technical issues, communicating with stakeholders, overseeing project execution, and promoting continuous improvement.
Must have:
  • 4-8+ years of web digital development experience and proven Technical Lead results
  • Expert knowledge of HTML/CSS, Bootstrap, Tailwind, Foundation, Bulma
  • Expertise in at least one programming language, preferably JavaScript, Ruby or PHP, C#
  • Expertise in database management SQL Server, mySQL, MongoDB
  • Practical experience with content management systems, Drupal, WordPress, WPEngine, Acquia, Contentful
  • Experience with wireframe and diagnostic tools
  • Expertise in programming frameworks Angular, React, Next, Vue
  • Experience with app compilers Capacitor, Cordova
  • Understanding and implementation of security best practices
  • Familiarity with network diagnostics tools
  • Experience implementing analytics variables into digital experiences
  • Team management skills
  • BSc/MSc in Computer Science or relevant field
  • Experience developing for mobile platforms; tablet and phone
  • Understanding of the software development cycle
  • Fluent in working in Figma, XD and other creative build kit files
  • Knowledge and experience on implementation of Web Accessibility attributes
  • Fluent in working in JIRA, Confluence and other project management related software
  • Digital production industry experience

POP’s Technical Lead is responsible for the successful consultation, creation and delivery of the agency’s projects to our clients by managing technical risks and opportunities.  He will make key software design and software implementation decisions with the agreement of the Agency and development teams, review technical task schedules, assist in estimating effort hours, manage change requests, and guarantee quality of deliverables; The TL will support the team on technical roadblocks, provide solutions or pathways for success.  The TL will also function as the immediate point of contact for the on-site development team, and be involved in hiring, assessment and review of that technical team.

Team Leadership:

Leading, supporting and managing a team of junior, mid-to-senior developers, providing mentorship, and fostering a collaborative work environment. 



Development Strategy:

Developing and implementing comprehensive development standards, maintaining coding frameworks, their use and implementation, ensure functionality adheres to best practices.

Technical Direction:


Make architectural and design decisions, ensuring the project follows best practices and standards. 



Quality Assurance:

Conduct code reviews, establish coding standards, and ensure adherence to best practices for maintainable and scalable code. 



Problem Solving:

Troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and contribute to innovative solutions. 



Communication:

Work with project managers, developers, quality assurance and account to define requirements, communicate technical solutions, and manage expectations. 



Project Execution:

Oversee project plans and timelines, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, while also contributing to progress reports and presentations. 



Continuous Improvement:

Research and evaluate new technologies and processes, identifying opportunities to enhance development capabilities. 


  

Qualifications / Skills  

We’re looking for candidates with industry experience in:    

  • 4-8+ years of web digital development experience and proven Technical Lead results
