Responsibilities include building program teams, defining program requirements with engineering and business owners, developing communication plans, managing cross-functional dependencies, defining key metrics, and proactively identifying complex infrastructure problems. The TPM will partner with cross-functional teams across all phases of project delivery, from technical analysis to post-implementation, and influence product decisions to align with company initiatives. A strong background in software engineering, systems engineering, or technical product/program management is essential.

Meta is seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to advance the state-of-the-art cloud-scale infrastructure at Meta. Meta’s infrastructure is immense, both in its physical footprint and in the collection of products and services we support. We are in the midst of a fundamental transformation of this infrastructure – streamlining the developer experience while operating efficiently at a rapidly increasing scale, and supporting the world’s leading web and AI workloads. As a Technical Program Manager supporting software engineering investments across our core infrastructure, capacity and efficiency team, you will be at the heart of driving this transformation. In close partnership with engineering, product and other cross-functional teams, you will identify technical problem statements, create technical roadmaps, scope programs aligning them with technical outcomes and business priorities, define milestones and success metrics, and drive them to completion by aligning and leading large cross-functional teams.
Technical Program Manager, Software Engineering Infrastructure Responsibilities
  • Build strong and aligned program teams to efficiently deliver on shared goals.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and business owners to define program requirements, set priorities, and establish scope which includes defining the roadmap and long-term strategy of the teams that you are partnering with.
  • Develop and own communication plans to effectively and proactively communicate program status, issues, and risks to stakeholders.
  • Manage cross functional dependencies, risks, and changes effectively by optimizing scope, schedule, and resources accordingly.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to drive technical analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases.
  • Define and track key metrics and key quality and performance indicators and drive cross functional execution of program deliverables.
  • Proactively identify and analyze complex, long-term, critical infrastructure problems with engineering leaders and stakeholders.
  • Influence product decisions to align with higher company initiatives.
  • Drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions including reducing the manual efforts through automation
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, or technical product/program management experience.
  • Experience delivering tech programs or products from inception to delivery. Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope.
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership.
  • Communication experience and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.
  • Organizational coordination experience and experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems.
