Job Description

Accor is seeking a Telephone Operator to manage the telephone exchange, answer incoming calls, and connect them to the appropriate extensions. Responsibilities include taking messages, handling long-distance and overseas calls, computing charges, and forwarding them to the Front Office Cashier. The role also involves screening calls for guests, paging parties, updating the room rack, handling wake-up calls, providing directory assistance, giving general information, and managing emergency communications. The operator will also maintain a clean work area and perform other assigned duties. Job Description

Main Duties:

  • Operates Telephone Exchange
  • Answers incoming calls, connects them to the appropriate extensions and takes down messages when necessary.
  • Receives and places long distance and overseas calls; computes and records charges, informs guest and forwards charges immediately to Front Office Cashier.
  • Screens incoming calls for guest when requested.
  • Pages called party through paging system.
  • Updates room rack in Telephone Exchange.
  • Handles wake-up calls and requests for directory assistance from guests; gives general information to guests.
  • Handles emergency communications for the hotel.
  • Maintains cleanliness and order of work area.
  • Performs duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
  • Excellent organizations skills and ability to find solutions
  • Able to cope with the pressures of a very busy environment
