Responsibilities:
- Own module(s)/game(s) and manage few team members
- Ability to architect, design, build, test & deploy high performant code
- Help troubleshoot, debug and fix any existing issues
- Review code written by team members & suggest optimizations,
- Verify and deploy changes to live
- Ability to see requirements as tech use-cases, externalize control parameters for flexible design
- Analyze issues in production and provide long term solutions
- Have a good understanding of the business problem and provide elegant solutions.
- Help identify the NFR criteria to be met
- Add tech debt to team’s backlog to be taken up on a periodic basis
- Deliver business functionalities in expected timelines, working with multiple stakeholders and constraints
- Create the required branches and checkpoints that help the team deliver quality code
- Check the performance of various APIs the team owns and improve them continuously
- Bring in tools that would help avoid repetitive work or which would help reduce human errors
- Take tech PoCs to production
- Follow changes that happen in the Java ecosystem and make sure we can upgrade to latest releases and patches
- Make sure the application is secure by following secure coding practices
- Coach and Mentor team members
- Work with Architects, Developers, QA, infrastructure, DBAs, product managers, scrum masters, and program managers in an Agile environment
- Work with product managers to suggest alternatives or phases in which the functionality can be delivered
- Help the teams to overcome dependencies with other stakeholders and stick to committed timelines/quality
- Liaise with other teams and third parties to convey what is expected from them to successfully implement features
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering or computer applications
- Strong computer science fundamentals
- 9-13 years of relevant programming experience in Java in an internet product
- Strong in Object-Oriented Programming
- Good Experience working with collections/data structures, multi-threading
- Hands-on Experience in Springboot, Microservices, Spring Security
- Experience working with message queues, sockets is a big plus
- Experience in unit testing frameworks Junit, Jest, etc.
- Experience working in CI/CD development
- Experience in code quality control platforms like Sonar, secure coding practices, OWASP vulnerabilities, token management, and OAuth
- Experience in Git, Maven, and containerization
- Experience in SQL/No-SQL databases, caching technologies
- Working experience in cloud (AWS or equivalent)
- Experience handling a module independently and improving NFRs
- Experience handling team of high energy engineers and nurturing their growth
- Good mentoring, communication and interpersonal skills
