The Commercial Finance Manager at Fluence is responsible for all commercial and contract aspects related to customer offers in the sales phase. This includes driving the process for commercial issues to ensure compliance with company guidelines for contractual, accounting, legal, and tax aspects of the offers. The CFM team ensures compliance to applicable regulations (internal and external) during the bidding process and ensures a full and accurate presentation of the risk and financial profiles of each opportunity from the firm offer phase to the contracting phase. The CFM role is crucial and active during customer contract negotiations and ensures a proper balance of the risk/reward relationship for each opportunity. This role requires a background in finance, working with large turnkey projects in the Energy Sector. The Commercial Finance Manager will run monthly forecast processes for new orders, weekly reporting and analysis of sales proposals, and incorporate, introduce, and train newly developed commercial/financial tools and strategies. The CFM will coordinate with sub-regional CFM directors and CFMs for early involvement of key internal functions such as technical accounting, tax, treasury, insurance, and others as applicable. This role requires advanced knowledge of contract (EPCs/Services) requirements, advanced understanding of commercial contract terms and conditions, including light drafting with contracts, detail orientation, strong time management and project management skills, a good working knowledge of the Energy Storage Industry, demonstrated ability to interact with executive management, excellent negotiations skills, advanced understanding of Project Accounting Methods, advanced understanding of Project financial KPIs, advanced understanding of Project risk management requirements, strong background in using MS Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and up to 25% travel as needed domestically and potentially globally.
Must have:
5-7 years of financially managing large projects in the Energy Sector including scopes of Engineering, Procurement and Construction and Long-Term Services
Advance knowledge of contract (EPCs/Services) requirements
Advanced understanding of commercial contract terms and conditions, including light drafting with contracts.
Detail oriented with strong time management and project management skills.
Good working knowledge of Energy Storage Industry
Demonstrated ability to interact with executive management.
Excellent negotiations skills with 3rd parties and customers.
Advanced understanding of Project Accounting Methods
Advanced understanding of Project financial KPIs

The Commercial Finance Manager at Fluence:
Runs monthly forecast process for the new orders for revenue, margin and cashflow with the Sub-regional leadership teams, the regional FP&A team, operational sales, regional leadership team and Sr. Director CFM; activities include ensuring timely data submissions from teams, data quality, variance analysis and alignment with Sr. Director CFM before submission to FP&A.
Runs weekly reporting and analysis of sales proposals including pricing analysis, opportunity development, contracting status and other key information.
Incorporates, introduces, and trains newly developed commercial/financial tools, strategies, processes to the CFM team and to the relevant CFM sales phase processes.
General process improvement relevant in the sales phase and ah-hoc analysis on forecast and budget, key commercial TCs at regional level, market trends, and others as needed.
Coordinates with the sub-regions CFM directors and CFMs for early involvement of key internal functions such as technical accounting, tax, treasury, insurance, and others as applicable and submits contractual info as required.
Coordinates with Sr. Director CFM, updates and submits relevant information for opportunities in contracting for various internal reviews.
Assists with audit requests.
Assists CFM with project handover from sales to execution and services teams
Conducts the project handover from sales to execution teams.
