Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Datacenter Capacity Delivery (DCD) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. Within DCD, the Commissioning (Cx) department is critical to the validation of the reliability and resiliency of new datacenters. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world’s largest online services.
As we continue expanding into existing and new geographies globally, we are seeking an individual with the ability to manage and drive consistency on the portfolio of projects for the Commissioning department.
The Commissioning Portfolio Manager will direct and oversee the consistency and program scaling of the Global DCD Cx program in alignment with the DCD objectives. This includes planning and overseeing commissioning execution, safety, policies, rules, and goals. The Cx Portfolio Director will serve as the DCD Cx second in command, reporting to the Global Sr. Director of Commissioning. This role will primarily focus on operationalizing the defined strategy.
The Commissioning Portfolio Manager will support the Cx Global leaders by enhancing leadership across the region and providing greater bandwidth for standardization and troubleshooting. This role will be responsible for most operational functions, including health and safety, capacity delivery, cost oversight, and accountability for all Cx program delivery scopes.
The Commissioning Portfolio Manager will collaborate closely with other organizational leaders to foster innovation, promote cross-functional learning, and drive global enhancements in the Cx program.
This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ, Washington DC. Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.
This role is eligible for hybrid, up to 50% from home.

Required/Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience
OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 7+ years technical engineering experience
OR Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience.

Reliability Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
