Job Description

The Director, Group Technology, Commercials role is a senior management position focused on major commercial programs and supporting M&A activities within the Technology COO domain. Reporting to the Head of Group Technology M&A and Commercials, this role is based in London. The responsibilities include representing Group Technology, overseeing commercial programs, managing budgets and project plans, iterating methodologies, collaborating with various departments, and supporting negotiations and due diligence for major transactions. The role requires strong communication skills, stakeholder management, financial acumen, and leadership capabilities. This individual will play a key role in driving commercial innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage within the organization.
Must have:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to produce executive narratives.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, fostering collaboration.
  • Strong knowledge of LSEG Group technology and network.
  • Experience supporting major transactions and execution oversight.
  • Significant experience in financial management and operational delivery.
  • A commercial approach to all aspects of the role.
  • Experience working on both supplier side and within Technology or other group functions.
  • Strong leadership skills during periods of change.
  • Experience leading global teams in a matrix environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to get things done well.

ROLE PROFILE:

ROLE SUMMARY:

This senior management role is mainly focussed on the activities associated with major commercial programs and may also support the M&A commercial activities that Technology COO is engaged in. The role reports to the Head of Group Technology M&A and Commercials and is based in London.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Represents Group Technology, ensuring a deep understanding of commercial programmes and best practice, in particular multi-year transformational transactions.

  • Responsible for the reporting requirements, escalation, and resolution for each Commercial Programme and some commercial elements of M&A programs.

  • Responsible for budget, project plan and realisation tracking for portfolio of work.

  • Iterates the methodology in relation to major transactions (e.g. Cloud deal methodology), creating a robust, repeatable approach to effectively coordinate major IT commercial programs. May also apply expertise the refinement of early-stage M&A activity.

  • Collaborates with other areas of Technology and the Business (e.g. Group Strategy, Procurement, Finance, Legal and Risk), supporting negotiations on Technology elements of major commercial transactions and also commercial elements of Tech M&A.

  • May support due diligence for Technology papers for the relevant CIO e.g. patents, technology, technology debts, people, incentives, cyber, cloud etc.

  • May support management in other commercial negotiations or commercial reviews as and when required.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Evidence of a history of skilled communication with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills – skilled at producing, content-rich, word-light executive narrative to resonate at CEO level.

  • Gravitas to interface with senior managers and peers across LSEG.

  • Proven ability to influence across stakeholders at all levels, wherever they work & whoever they work for.

  • Strong knowledge of LSEG Group technology and network across the Group to support collaboration on programs.

  • Experience in supporting major transactions and oversight of execution within IT/Operations/Business processes.

  • Significant experience of financial management and operational delivery.

  • A commercial approach in all aspects of the role.

  • Experience working on both the supplier side as well as within Technology or other group functions.

  • Strong leadership skills evidenced during periods of significant change.

  • Experience leading global teams in a matrix environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and gets the right things done well.

  • Experience working across the M&A lifecycle, including business case development, due diligence, synergy/value/benefits realisation.
