Summary of Position:

The International Sales Operations & Accounting group oversees front-end finance functions which include invoicing, collection, recording, and reporting of Minimum Guarantee payments, as well as rights management, contract administration, and system development.  Financial data maintained by the group flows directly to the company’s General Ledger, along with other key deal points which provide the basis for reports and analysis tools used throughout the International Division, MPG and Lionsgate.   

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage systems, business processes, and documentation relating to contract entry, collections for International All-Rights Sales Team for all territories (China exclusively), and cash application.
  • Conduct forecasting, and cash flow analysis in cooperation with the accounting group to achieve best estimate of General Ledger aging of billed and unbilled accounts receivable, and determine deferred revenue values.
  • Work in tandem with international legal, distribution and servicing teams to ensure timely payments and collections prior to delivery of materials.
  • Letter of Credit administration.
  • Collaborate with IT to improve and develop optimal data capture, cleanse, and financial reporting modules
  • Provide financial reporting and status updates both internally, and to sales agency partners as needed
  • Lead monthly Accounts Receivable meeting to discuss payment issues with the legal, servicing, distribution, and accounting teams

Qualifications and Skills

  • 7-10 years accounting and collections experience
  • Proficiency in SAP and rights tracking systems (e.g., FilmTrack, Rightsline)
  • Proactive self-starter with strong communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work on a wide variety of assignments 
  • Ability to thrive and work collaboratively in a team environment while often working independently
  • Working knowledge in key accounting and collections principles
