Gigamon is seeking a Director, Product Management for it's core platforms, to play a vital role in our product line management team focused on the software that runs on all of the hardware platforms. The person in this role will be working as part of a team in this domain, with the responsibility to drive, manage and enable product success from ‘vision’ to ‘bookings’. The right candidate will be a strategic team player with demonstrated excellence in understanding market and customer needs, collaborating with other stakeholders to develop product strategy and translate that strategy into world-class products.
The ideal candidate would have an excellent understanding of networking, competitive analysis and is obsessed with starting from the customer problems and working backward. The perfect candidate would have network packet broker experience.
What you'll do:
- Product strategy: Define the vision and roadmap for the NPB product, considering market trends, customer needs, and competitor analysis to identify potential features and functionalities.
- Product development and team work: Collaborate with engineering to develop, and implement new features, enhance existing ones, prioritize key fixes, and ensure the product meets performance and scalability requirements.
- Market analysis: Understanding the competitive landscape, market segments, and customer requirements to position the product effectively.
- Product launch: Plan and execute product launches with a cross functional set of stakeholders, including internal and external enablement.
- Voice of the customer: Meet regularly with customers and partners to evangelize the vision, strategy, and roadmap, and collect feedback both on existing products and features but also building an understanding of where customers are going next, with a focus on the "why".
- Technical expertise: Network Packet Brokers require a strong understanding of both hardware architectures and network protocols. Bringing a strong understanding of networking will be key to working well with both customers and engineering.
What you'll bring:
- At least 7+ years of Product Management experience.
- 15+ years overall experience.
- Prior networking or packet broker experience.
- Previous experience working with operating systems, platforms, system architecture, or related technologies.
- Well rounded Product Management skills, from working with customers to understand pain points, translating these into well written requirements, articulating the needs both at a technical and business level.
- Prior experience driving requirements, from initial writing, to discussions with engineering, to delivery in a release.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally, with Engineering, Project Management, Marketing, and Technical Marketing/Product Marketing.

The base salary compensation range targeted for this role based out of Gigamon's Santa Clara, CA, Headquarters office is $220,000 - $275,000, with an opportunity to earn an annual bonus or commission (subject to terms and conditions of the plan). This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
