What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance strategies for video game projects, including test plans, test cases, and test schedules.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA testers, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained.
- Collaborate with game development teams to understand project requirements, identify potential risks, and establish testing priorities.
- Establish and maintain effective QA processes and procedures, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and standards.
- Coordinate with external QA vendors and partners as needed to supplement internal testing efforts.
- Oversee the execution of functional, compatibility, performance, and regression testing across multiple platforms and devices.
- Analyze test results, track defects, and work closely with development teams to prioritize and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Provide regular updates and reports on QA status, including metrics such as defect rates, test coverage, and test execution progress.
- Continuously evaluate and improve QA workflows, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and advancements in the video game industry, and incorporate relevant QA practices into our processes.
What Will Make You A Great Fit
- 10 years of experience in quality assurance testing, with a minimum of [5] years in a leadership or management role within the video game industry.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and techniques, particularly as they relate to video game development.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing QA teams, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Passion for video games and a deep understanding of gaming platforms, genres, and player expectations.
- Experience with test automation, scripting languages, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) are desirable but not required.
