Job Description

As Executive Producer for Old School Runescape, you'll lead a multi-disciplinary team in developing and delivering a compelling vision for this popular MMORPG. Responsibilities include strategic leadership, overseeing development, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery, collaborating with producers and developers, establishing production schedules, and leading and inspiring teams. You'll partner across the business on live operations, manage the project's P&L, maintain quality standards, and ensure player feedback is integrated. You will also collaborate with marketing, community, and business development teams to create comprehensive market strategies and champion Jagex's culture and values.

Are you an experienced Production, Product & People Leader in the games industry who wants to lead a multi-discipline team on one of the world’s most popular and community-focused MMORPGs?

As the Executive Producer on Old School Runescape, you will be the vision holder, budget holder and production leader of a game that shaped at 20+ year old franchise and has brought thousands of hours of enjoyment to millions of people all over the world.

In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the strategic vision, overseeing the development process, and ensuring the successful delivery of a Forever Game for Jagex, and a fantastic player-focused, community-driven experience.

This is a hugely impactful role at the studio as you lead talented teams of producers, developers, designers, artists and more in their creation of experiences that appeal to both new and existing players of our franchise. 

  

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop, communicate & deliver a clear and compelling vision for Old School Runescape, aligning with company goals, player needs and market trends. 
  • Provide strategic leadership by working closely with stakeholders to define the overall strategy, goals and roadmaps on the project. 
  • Provide executive oversight to the entire game development process, ensuring milestones are achieved on time and within budget. 
  • Collaborate with producers and the development team to establish and maintain production schedules, resource planning, and risk mitigation strategies. 
  • Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of developers, designers, artists, and other professionals to help them achieve their creative and technical goals. 
  • Partner effectively across the business on a Live Operations strategy to enable the commercial success of the title. 
  • Own the P&L for the project, working closely with finance and production teams to allocate resources effectively and optimize development costs. 
  • Maintain a high standard of quality throughout the continued development process, ensuring that the game meets or exceeds player expectations. 
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels and processes between departments and key stakeholders for effective leadership across all teams on the project. 
  • Collaborate with marketing, community, and business development teams to create and implement comprehensive market strategies. 
  • Advocate for player-centric design principles, ensuring that player feedback is integrated into the development process to create a compelling and engaging MMO experience. 
  • Champion the Jagex Culture and Values to foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement. 

  

What we’re looking for: 

  • Proven experience in a hands-on Production Senior Leadership role in live games or GaaS. 
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience leading on a game, or multiple games with strong knowledge and experience through the entire production cycle.
  • A strong, charismatic leader with a track record of managing cross-functional teams. 
  • A proven leader of leaders - Providing strategic direction to leaders of teams across multiple different functions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate a clear vision and strategy and create drive and motivation among the team. 
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to make informed decisions to drive project success. 
  • A strong interest in MMO games and an understanding of MMO communities and player trends.
