EA SPORTS, a prominent brand within EA, is known for its top-selling sports video game franchises. They are seeking a User Experience Designer to join the EA Sports Madden Experience Design Team. The role involves partnering with producers, UI artists, and engineers to create detailed wireframes, flowcharts, and prototypes. Responsibilities include supporting usability testing, ensuring UX consistency, establishing design standards, and translating user research into user-centered design goals. The ideal candidate will advocate for players and champion usability and accessibility.

Must have:

3+ years of experience in product design or UX design
Proficiency in UX/interaction design
Broad UX design toolkit (journey mapping, wireframes, prototypes)
Ability to present and rationalize UX design strategy
Advocate for players and usability

Good to have:

Bachelor's Degree in UX, Psychology, Human Factors, or related HCI discipline
Avid gamer with passion for games

The EA Sports Madden Experience Design Team is looking for a User Experience Designer who is passionate about solving complex problems and building experiences to delight our players.

What you will do:

Partner with Producers, UI visual artists and Engineering to produce detailed wireframes, flowcharts, prototypes and other product deliverables to communicate product requirements
Support usability testing and focus groups to validate design and product direction
Ensure UX consistency across the product
Apply and establish a set of design standards, documentation, and principles
Distill user research, competitive analysis and feedback into user-centered design goals
Help our teams empathize with players and advocate for usability and accessibility

Requirements

3+ years of experience in product design or user experience design role
Proficiency in user experience/interaction design or Bachelor's Degree in UX, Psychology, Human Factors, Industrial Engineering or related HCI discipline
You have a broad UX design toolkit for different stages of development (journey mapping, empathy maps, archetypes, user scenarios, site maps, flows, wireframes, and prototypes)
You can present and rationalize UX design strategy and decisions to diverse audiences using these opportunities to advocate for players, share knowledge and demonstrate design thinking in action
You will report to the UX lead on Madden
Bonus; An avid gamer, who loves to talk about games and what makes them great

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) * $96,400 - $133,900 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
