Job Description

Intel Labs is seeking a Research Fellow to join its Processor Architecture Research Lab. This 3-year fellowship is ideal for post-doctoral or pre-doctoral candidates seeking in-depth industry experience. As a Research Fellow, you'll contribute to all stages of the research lifecycle, from problem identification to publication. This includes characterizing applications, optimizing CPU/GPU/NPU performance for cloud and AI, developing research infrastructure, and generating innovative solutions. We welcome individuals with diverse backgrounds spanning algorithms, applications, compilers, system software, and hardware architecture/design.
Must have:
  • PhD or advanced MS in EE/CS from a top University
  • Strong software expertise in C++/Perl/Python
  • Experience with cycle-accurate simulators or system software (compilers, runtimes, OS)
  • Research experience in graduate school or industry
Good to have:
  • Expertise in VLSI design and/or accelerator-based (micro)architecture
  • Expertise in emerging AI/Cloud workloads characterization
  • Workload-driven architecture experience

Job Description

Processor Architecture Research Lab is offering 3-year Research Fellowships . This position is ideally suited as a post-doctorate or pre-doctorate position for those looking to gain in-depth industry exposure/experience before applying for full-time faculty, PhD or other industrial positions. Current and past Research Fellows have worked on end-to-end application characterization and cross-stack CPU/GPU/NPU optimizations to accelerate emerging cloud and AI use cases. Research Fellows contribute to all aspects of the research lifecycle spanning problem identification, research infrastructure development, ideation and evaluation, and research publications. We welcome broad skillsets spanning algorithms and applications, compilers, system software and hardware architecture and design. Candidates should be completing or have completed PhD or MS in CS/EE from a top University

Qualifications

Candidates must have a PhD or advanced MS in EE/CS from a top University. Research experience is highly desired either in graduate school or in the industry. Technical Expertise (one or more): o Strong software expertise in C++/Perl/Python and experience in cycle-accurate (micro)architecture simulators and/or system software (compilers, runtimes, OS) o Expertise in VLSI design and/or accelerator-based (micro)architecture o Expertise in emerging AI/Cloud workloads characterization and workload-driven architecture
