This IT Project Manager role at Trek involves coordinating and supporting IT projects, facilitating collaboration with stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Responsibilities include defining, planning, and orchestrating strategic initiatives; generating reports; resolving team issues; creating and maintaining project roadmaps; prioritizing projects; collaborating with Product Managers; developing and updating project documentation; producing weekly status reports; gatekeeping project phases; delivering regular updates; creating go-live plans; leading team meetings; and managing the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of IT Project Management experience, strong communication and organizational skills, experience with software SDLCs, and proficiency in tools like Jira and Confluence.

Job Description

Coordinate and support the overall projects for IT project teams. Work to facilitate and nurture collaboration and communication with stakeholders. Is ultimately responsible for ushering execution and delivery of his/her work team's projects within scope, on schedule, and within budget (if applicable).  Responsible for removing any blocker the work team is experiencing to keep the project running smoothly.  Responsible for maintaining accurate project timelines and communicating out when any project plan changes are made.

A Successful Project Manager will:

  • Be accountable for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering on a given strategic initiative
  • Participate in steering, giving project updates
  • Generate reports
  • Unblock work team when issues arise
  • Create and maintain the roadmap for each of his/her projects, keeping start and end dates accurate
  • Coordinate project prioritization around vision set by the product owners
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager(s) when there is a priority/timing conflict with project work.
  • Develop Project Plan Documentation for each project and update the document as the project progresses.
  • Produce a weekly report of Project Health/Status for the Product Owners and Stakeholders.
  • Be accountable for gatekeeping the project at each steps, ensuring all activities/artifacts have been satisfied before moving the team to the next phase of the project.
  • Deliver regular project status updates
  • Work with team to develop go live plans
  • Lead core team as well as other project related meetings and discussions
  • Be a focused and versatile team player that is comfortable under pressure
  • Execute even when there is ambiguity and/or limited information
  • Drive internal and external alignment around product vision set by the Product Manager
  • Directly manage all aspects of the project lifecycle and works with team members to oversee all software development lifecycle phases of the project

Position Requirements:

  • Four (4) or more years’ experience in IT Project Management.
  • Tremendous organizational skills
  • Tremendous verbal communication skills
  • Tremendous written communication skills
  • Exceptional business and technical communication skills required with an ability to conduct interviews and facilitate group discussions.
  • Sound business and technical acumen
  • Proven ability to:

    • Earn the trust of stakeholders and sponsors

  • Experience working with Software SDLCs
  • Ability to communicate at all levels both with clarity and precision
  • Experience with stake holder management
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to jump into a project at different stages and pull a project plan together and run the project
  • Experience with various software and project documentation
  • Experience running projects using  JIRA and Confluence.
  • Commitment to excellence in customer service, product quality, and doing the “right thing” in a dynamic environment with multiple and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Understanding of various IT areas, a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills required with experience in agile software development, a plus.
  • Understanding of testing and release management techniques and technologies required, a plus.
