The Key Account Manager at Spin Master is responsible for maximizing sales opportunities, managing risk, meeting profitability goals, and building strong relationships with key accounts. Responsibilities include developing and delivering business plans, creating product presentations, working with support teams on forecasting, analyzing sales data, and collaborating with internal teams. The role requires effective communication, negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of retail dynamics. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the CPG or toy industry, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and proven success managing a national retailer portfolio. The position involves strategic planning, budget management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve sales targets.

What will you work on?
The Key Account Manager works to maximise opportunities, manage risk, deliver on profitability goals, develop effective long-term business relationships and exceed customer expectations, within their portfolio of accounts.

How will you create impact?

  • Developing bi-annual business plans that deliver upon company goals and meet customer needs
  • Deliver product presentations, business proposals and ad plans to customers on time
  • Understand the customer timelines and proactively provide customers with all information and materials required to make decisions and manage business effectively
  • Work with support team to develop forecasts that best reflect market realities; update forecasts as required, on a monthly basis as a minimum
  • Timely and effective review of actual performance to ensure goals are achieved and adjust plans as necessary
  • Manage customer specific budgets and update salesforce
  • Analysis of sell through data and market intelligence to maximize business opportunities while minimising risk
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently with customers; and provide fast solutions to challenges
  • Work proactively and effectively with team members to deliver best possible customer service
  • Work in a team environment, providing feedback and coaching to your account management team
  • Quickly gain a thorough understanding of all account business objectives and marketing plans by gaining multi-level and cross functional contacts within the your account portfolio
  • Develop innovative sales and marketing led account plans that will maximise Spin Master’s performance within each account
  • Co-ordinate trade marketing and marketing activity within your accounts to ensure delivery of planned volume, distribution and profit targets
  • Maximise and is accountable for account profitability through strategic business planning including, delivery of volume, revenue and margin and creative promotional work and good use of data to provide category solutions
  • Work closely with accounts to gain joint agreement on objectives for sales growth whilst managing each account selections process
  • Negotiate at senior level to ensure Spin Master maximises the advantage of long term supply agreements and optimises all elements of the marketing mix
  • Be responsible for the retailer’s forecasting and working closely with the planning team to ensure stock is delivered to accounts as required
  • Maintain and further develop the strong commercial and personal relationships between Spin Master and your account base and ensure Spin Master remains a preferred supplier

What are your skills and experience?

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in similar role in the CPG or Toy industry preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related area – Knowledge in the Toy Market
  • Demonstrated success managing a business portfolio with a national retailer
  • Retail Experience either at store level or retail planning experience and asset
  • Communication skills
  • Customer driven approach and a “go-getter” attitude
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, both externally and internally
  • Proficiency in MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SAP, Salesforce an asset
  • Demonstrated organization, planning and communication skills
  • Goal oriented to achieve targets through self-motivation, persistence determination
  • Ability to create and maintain business presentations, Excel files, read POS reports
  • Able to travel
  • Full clean driving lic
